Hello all, I asked this question late last night but I cannot even find it anywhere on the forum today so here goes again.

I am putting together a rider and I am wanting front brakes. Which would be the best the Odyssey 1999 Brake (from J&R and Danscomp) or the DiaCompe Bulldog caliper brake (from colored tuffs)?

Also is the MX 1000 brakes on Porkchops website the real ones from DiaCompe or just a knock off?

Thanks again!

When looking for vintage bmx stuff there is one word which you have to watch out for..

"MX 1000 style brake caliper set"

if you were to go with the odyssey 1999 or the diacompe bulldog I would say go with the bulldog brake, it works alot better then the odyssey 1999 brake and has great stopping power if you can get it set up just right. also, no the mx 1000's on porkchops are not diacompes.

The reason you can't find your original thread here is because you posted it in the freestyle forum.

Get NOS MX 1000 from ebay, they're not very expensive and you can find real ones from bitd. my 02 cents..
