I'm going back tonight to see if I can find my Jerseys...I had these and also the pre 92 ones( the white long sleeve with the pink blue and green triangles that kinda looked like tetris) anyone remember those?

90 Mongoose Solution Pro (chromoly) in the middle of being refurbished

Some shirts I got way back when...there are lots more but I will have to find them

I think that's the same blue goose frame that I used to race/jump. I cracked 3 or 4 of them. They would only last me a few weeks and the head tube would start to go.

Is this the same Chad Herrington from Chula Vista? I used to ride with Tim o'shea, shawn butler, and my buddy they called big bird...we rode with a bunch of guys from SD over at cheap thrills (sheep hills). back then they called me the marlboro man...ring a bell?

Anyways.....

how ya been? whatcha been up to lately? I've been out of the scene for over 15 years so it's cool to see a familiar name...

That's me! I think I do remember you. The marlboro name does ring the old bell. It's been what, 17 or 18 years though!? Loooong time!
I've been doing good. Wife and I are having our 11 year wedding anniversary in a few weeks. We're kept busy chasing around our 2 year old daughter and we have another baby on the way. I've also been out of the bike scene but for around 6 years. Just got back on the bike about 4 months ago!

Hope all is well with you. Take it easy brotha man!

oh damn, yeah its been at least that long. haha

Big congrats on the anniversary and on the new one on the way. Boy/girl?
I want a boy eventually so I can teach him the ways of ridin. lol, well if he wants to of course.

I recently jumped back on a bike and bailed on my first jump..I screwed up my knee a little bit. It's gonna be hard getting used to it again. The days of being fearless on a bike are gone. But I will never be to old for this stuff. lol

Good luck with the new one on the way.

That's awesome that you are restoring that bike. I am still in the process of restoring my old flatland rider which I am greatly looking forward to riding again.

Thanks! It should be a lot of fun to do. My only worry is finding the appropriate decals for it. I will post pictures as I go along.

What exactly are you restroring?

Good to see Tim O'Shea's name. I used to ride with him in 'Pedro. Just saw him at NORA cup in 'Vegas. He seems to be doing good but I heard he broke his back.

Its nice to see some guys still have their old race bikes. I still have my 1994 PK Ripper that I bought new. I just restored it as well.

Talk about bringing this back . . . I lived in San Pedro and worked at a shop in Hermosa before moving back to Hawaii in '93. When I saw Tim, he seemed a little down but was trying to make the best of it. I assumed he was still in a bit of pain.
5th St. Jumps, 22nd St., Bloch Field, Western, Peck Park Pool, Jeremy's back yard and the jumps across from his house, and the jumps across from Bicycle Source. And then taking the van out to Orange, Santa Ana Civic Center, Twin Palms, Sheep Hills, Coal Canyon, Edison, P.O.W. house, Muppet Show, Subway, Fatburger. Memories.

Been to 90% of those. I went to this place called troll trails a while back but could never find it again. lol

Speaking of fat burger...is that the same one that is down the street from bicycle source? Good times were had there...did you ever ride the jumps in redondo(right where the Pep Boys is now at aviation and artesia)?

Fatburger was (is, I think) on the corner of PCH and where PV Drive would meet up with it. I don't remember what exactly the name is now though. The banks were made famous by Spike doing a can foot plant? Down the street from Bicycle Source was either the Wienersnitzel or a Tommys Burger. I don't remember jumps right by Pep Boys. I know there was a bike shop just up from there owned by Otto Ernst. I'm pretty sure he had some old Cinelli BMX bikes in there. There was at least two of them and they had Tioga Comp II's on 'em. He wouldn't sell them to me. There was also some grass jumps at the school just back south from there. Redondo Union? I know there was an empty lot off of Artesia next to a gas station with some jumps. That place took my first pair of S&M Forks.
Damnit! I miss it. At least I get to come back in July for a wedding.
TheGoose
Yeah I remember the jumps at redondo union...and the empty lot next to the gas station IS the lot I was talking about where the pep boys is now.

I used to ride with a bunch of people from MB down to the strand, up through PV, and over to Pedro almost every weekend to ride the jumps they had there. Thats where I met Tim O'shea...actually I brought Shaun Butler and his cousin with me there once.

Funny story about Pedro...my buddy Matt was on his Auburn and went down a drop in that set up to a double or something and on his way down his bars snapped and he face planted HARD! My mom had to come get us. lol
