Ever get any BAD Injuries from Freestyling? I try to avoid bad injuries by only doing the safe freestyle tricks. Oldschool stuff and rolling flatland. No ramps or skateparks for me! I can't afford the cost of the hospital and breaking my bones! I have had my share of bad spills but if you're in this sport you gotta have cat like reflexes to save you! And I got cat like reflexes but I can't balance rolling flatland well...
Worst crashes but no injuries -
1. 5 foot air off a ramp but kicked over landing on my front wheel and landed on my back. Bad jump...
2. Bad slide off of ledge; front wheel pegs hit the ledge throwing me head first into the ground which I counteracted with my right arm.
Common crashes -
bad front wheel 180 causes me to fall off
bad roll backs at the skatepark
If you ever got a bad injury and went to the hospital tell us about how it happened and how much was the hospital bill!
Freestyling is the baddest sport around but it's dangerous! I got a helmut, elbow & knee pads too protect me for dangerous moments...

During Mega Tour 3, Hoffman Bikes came to my local indoor park called Fergusons in Little Rock AR. I skipped work to ride with Seth Kimbrough. We had been riding non stop for about 4 hours. I dropped into a 3 foot hip and my sprocket hit the coping. I went head first to the concrete and woke up looking at someones feet. I lost one tooth, pushed back 3, and chipped 2. I was walked to the couch and Seth Kimbrough looked at my teeth and said that I might need stitches. I didnt get stitches, and the hospital visit cost about 300 dollars because of insurance. I have false teeth now and the Air Force paid for those. Yeah, pretty awesome night though, got to meet and ride with my favorite rider.

I went riding at an indoor ramp park in Lakewood NJ 2002.
Same story here.
My sproket hit the coping and went down HARD.
Broken right collar bone.
Doctor decided wearing a sling for a few weeks would cure me.
I guess he never learned what a shoulder immobilizer was in medical school.
Needless to say have a noticeable gap in my right shoulder.
I will never ride ramps again without my full face helmet and pads.

I dead sailored over the first set of dirt jumps at the 01 0r 02 CFB in Jacksonville, cracking ribs and jacking the shoulder opposite of the one I fell on. Numerous concussions, sprains, strains. I wear elbow pads, knee pads, a skate lid, and a mouth guard. Thing is, you always fall on the unsecured body part.

lots of racing injuries
only freestyle injury was about 5 years ago, i was hanging at the skatepark alot in the winter to keep my bike handling fresh. i usually just flowed around, nothing special. so i decide it's time to start doing 360's. it took me a full day to get them dialed on a flyout, then moved on to a box. got 2 and was feeling good.
3rd one, something went wrong. i overshot and was nose down to flat landing. i bailed to save my face/head, but rolled my ankle and broke it.
that was the last 360 i did. in fact, i think it was the last skatepark trip i made
This wasn't a bad injury, but the very first terrifying crash I think I ever experienced was when I was 13, barhop to hang my foot on the cable. I rolled barride style careeing down the street for about 20 feet, totally terrified, until I abruptly turned right and crashed into a mailbox. I had flip flops on and a towel over my shoulder I was headed to the pool. Since that day in 1989 I've done exactly two barhops since then. One in 1997 and one in 2002......

1991 or 1992? Two-hip street contest in Bronx, NYC.
2 minutes before my street run, my friend's wife was like "can you bunnyhop that gate?"
Sure enough, my back wheel hit it big-time, and I whacked my face right on the concrete...
couple of stitches, and I missed the contest.
Bonus: I met Trevor Meyer, he was next to me getting a slice in his arm stitched up. it looked like a vagina on his forearm.
Great trip!!

Cracked spleen, (doctor said he had never seen a spleen so badly damaged without it rupturing) bruised left kidney so bad I pissed blood for 2 to 3 days, and hairline fractures in all my ribs on the left side. It was not a good day at the trails for sonikk71.
