Trying to find a decal set for a 98' Hoffman EP. Mine came w/the red lettering decals but I'd like to find the blue lettering if possible? I'd be happy with even just the downtube "HB" in blue if anyone has one? Also, does anyone know how to figure out the year on these? I looked at the serial # but it doesn't say. Is there a way to figure it out? I believe mine to be either a 97' or 98'...Thanks!...Oh, is there any site that sells alot of mid-new school parts? Besides Dans Comp...Thanks!

Another question. When I got this bike it had all of the original parts, but some weren't installed. The wheels are the High Roller wheels. The rear axle spins in both directions? It also looks to have some sort of spring on one end of the hub. And the free-wheel doesn't look like a free-wheel, looks almost like a coaster brake type free-wheel? Anyone know anything about these wheels? I haven't installed them yet so I'm wondering if they will work? Or are they supposed to be like that? Are they a special kind of wheel?

The rear hub is a freecoaster, when you roll backward the cranks dont move like with a freewheel. Good luck on finding the decals, midschool hoffman decals are hard to find. As for buying midschool parts new, your out of luck unless you find someone that has a secret stash.

I was wondering if it could be a free-coaster. I never had one so I wasn't sure. But thanks for the help/info guys! I appreciate it.

I believe the difference between the 97 and 98 is that the seat stays are bent and the rear brake posts are adjustable. As for the wheels the EP came with a rear Taska freecoaster. The none driver side has the compressed spring. I bought a complete 99 Hoffman EP in 1999 and it came with this same hub. After about 4 months of riding the hub start to skip when I pedaled forward and became very annoying and dangerous. The Taska hub is known as crap in the flatland community and I upgrated mine to a Nankai which I still use today.

Here is a link to a web site specific to freecoasters

I'm still trying to determine what year my EP is. Correct me if I'm wrong, But I believe the 97' models didn't have the bent seat stays or adjustable rear 990 mounts. That started in 98' correct? Just trying to clear that up. And was 98' the only year for the adjustable 990 mounts? Thanks!
