I was at C4 Labs recently and Chip was showing me a calendar that was printed by VintageBMX. I am a freelance photographer and I have some awesome shots of my friends Hutch Trick Star. I want to know if VBMX is going to print a new calendar for next year and who do I contact to get my shot in the calendar?

It all comes down to "will someone buy it." Doing it as an exercise of "let's see what happens" is not going to work for me.
If I get 25 or more who will buy it at $19.95, we'll do it.
Vote in the poll, and if we get 25 yes votes by 10/16, we'll post an order page.
Best,

Mike,
If I were you I would move this thread to the bmx area.
I hardly ever go to this area on VBMX.
YES, I am in on these if you print them.

I am thinking about doing both a modern and a vintage version. If I have 25 orders for both, I'll do both.
Thanks for asking!

The VBMX 2008 Printed Calendar
I might buy one but 2008 is too recent. I'd like a calendar from, like, 1997 or something.

LOL good one. And good catch. I accidentally wrote 2005 on a chec the other day (Don't tell AT&T

).
Fixed!
Incidentally, if these were shipped by Dec 10, do you feel this is sufficient time for those of you who voted yes?
Please advise.

I would buy a new school version. I would also be interested in putting my new project from Standard in.
Of course it would have to be a bright sunny day to get the full effect.
Dec 10 is good for me just let me know what its going to take.

Make one that is both old and new school bmx. Some cool new racing pics and some Old school bikes or racing. Saves making two and hits both markets.

I'd be interested in an "OLD SCHOOL 70's" calender.
Maybe we can get a thread started early next year and have members submit good photos of their best and/or rarest bikes then later in the year compile them and do a poll so people can vote on the members bikes they would like to see in the calenders, maybe three different calenders. A 70's, an 80's and a new school calender. Maybe even compile several bikes into one month, like an all Squareback month or and all Mongoose month, something like that.
Who thinks this may be possible?

I agree that the old and new would be better, but I will buy one regardless. If it shipped before
31 DEC 2009 I would be cool. I don't really use calendars, but they do have a spot on my Kitchen wall. I think the one up there now is still on March. LOL
My vote, YES!!!

Well Mike,
Are we going to see a calendar for 2010?
You did get over 25 YES, but not 25 all for the same style, so do a half/half...
I am in for a few calanders...

We did get over 25 votes, so we're going to do both.
I am working on getting the photo files together, and will be making photo decisions in the next week or so.
My first choice for bike photos is professionally-done studio shots on the Vintage side. I will be reaching out to people who goth their photos done at Rockford, as John Geiger has given be blanket permission to use them in print. I know SAF also has some killer bike shots, so, Greg, if you're out there and want to lend an image or two to the project, we'd love to have it.
More to come in terms of ordering info and such.
Thanks all!
Best,
M

I would buy one. Why not do a calander mixed with both? Each Month have photo on left be old school, and on the right be new stuff. Could even have each month have one pics from 70', one from 80', 90's, and 2000 era. Just though maybe it could satisfy all, and only have one print (save money).
Let me know.

Yes, I am still doing the calendars (better late than never, I guess, eh?)
I am posting the order info tomorrow for both the Vintage and New School editions. $19.95 ea or both for $35, plus $3.00 shipping.
Sorry this is so late, but I am still light four bike images to fill out the Vintage version. So, if anyone has pro-quality shots in 300dpi, feel free to PM me.

Hey Gents...
It's really no big deal to make a freaking calendar nowadays...
Just go to cafepress.com, or zazzle.com and upload your photos to one of their many calendar templates and have at it.
I did it in 2007 for a 2008 calendar for BMX in NJ, mixed up racing and freestyle. I sold quite a bit at our state banquet, used the proceeds to donate to my local track and get the state PA a mp3 player.
This is not really a big deal and doesn't require 3 pages of "how to do it".
Not to be a dork or anything but...jeesh, I mean the BMX shop up above is powered by cafe press, (I sorta think they are overpriced and don't have enough different product, which is why I have switched to zazzle for all my goods making.) so...make it happen.
Oh and zazzle let's you choose the dates on when the calendar starts and ends up to TWO years so you could get pretty custom.
Get to work!
Bill, for 2011, we'll have a BMX calendar specifically for NJ.
