We don't get many big races so this should be a good one. Usually Egg Harbor is the first of the year, right?

2009 NE Regional Championship is now at Shoreham, Long Island during the same weekend of the 1st 2010 Regional qualifier. Come on down. The track has been revamped and is extremely technical now.

Does that translate into
not rookie and novice friendly?

Does anyone have any links to pictures or videos from the track? I am looking to get an idea of the layout before the Regionals.

sorry to say but in my opinion its not rookie or old guy friendly. the first 2 jumps are tough. a step up and then a doudle. if you are fast enough you need to jump or use the brakes. the rookies seem to bash into the face of the step up. and the rest of the jumps are peaky.

My son is a rookie...well maybe a super rookie because he has been racing for 2 years and needs just a few move up points to be novice. He gets around the track just fine. There are a lot of rookies including 4 yr olds that make it around the track without parental guidance (lol) so it can't be bad. I'm a 40 yr old cruiser and get around the track without falling - that's my test for whether a track is rookie or novice friendly. lol. All jokes aside the track is fine for all. We have a lot of rookies (that is our biggest class of riders) that ride it and I've witnessed less crashes at Shoreham then at other tracks that are not as technical such as Trumbull, CT.

It is a fun track. The difficulty thing about the track is that you cannot pedal the whole thing because of the placement of the jumps; there is constant change in direction and speed. For us old guys I will say that you can get speed up to and coming out of the 3rd turn. Then the doubles slow you down significantly (they slow me down because I cant and dont try to manual over them). Oftentimes I am in first until the 3rd straight and then someone who knows how to pump and manual the bike will pass me by.
