Full Version: 1986 Schwinn Black Shadow vs 1987 Schwinn Sting

As far as I can tell these frame/fork sets are the same...just a name change. Was the head badge on the '87 Sting screwed on or was it put on with adhesive? I have what I think is an '86 Black Shadow but want to build it up as a Sting. I just don't want to do that if there was really a difference between the two. Thanks for any input you may have.

I had both and there was no difference in the geometry; not sure about the head tube decal.

Badge for this year should be riveted on.

I believe the Sting still had a 5" head tube. Does the black shadow?

Yes, both have 5" headtubes with flared top and down tubes at the headtube junction.
