First of all, let me start by thanking Andy aka Greyboy for the opportunity to buy this Blazer mini almost 2 years ago
After sitting for 2 years , I decided to remove and sell off 70% of the bike (Wheels, tires, cranks, seat clamp, seat, grips, stem and handle bars) and replace them with a few NOS parts already in my possession.
(The Urchin cages are a bit later (85/6), as with a few other pieces (Marcos ?), but they will have to do until I find some OG Hutch cages or black rat traps. Campy cranks are also earlier.)
Here is the outcome. LMK what you think (positive or negative criticism welcome but be gentle)
NOS 82 BLAZER mini f/f
Tuf Neck mini stem
A'me mini grips
Stronglight Alloy headset
Shimano brake lever
Dia Compe 500 mini calipers with weinmann adjuster
DB alloy mini bars
Campagnolo 165mm Pista crank set
Sugino 45t chain ring
Hutch mini pedals w/ Ti axles and Urchin cages
Hutch mini donut seat clamp
UNI Hammerhead seat
SR loose ball hubs
ARAYA Hard ano sewup hoops
Panaracer Conquer sewup tires
Blk alloy nipples
SS spoke
Complete wheel set was laced up by GTs BITD wheel builder Jose Barrera.
Straight lace front wheel, Straight lace non drive side / cross lace drive side rear
Suntour 16t freewheel
Smoker chain
alloy euro BB

Awesome bike and wow@ the hutch seat clamp. I need one so bad

I think it would look better with a uni mini but those probably came out well after the rest of the build. Nice job sticking with the era correct parts. I love a nice mini build. I've been working on one for a while now.

my other option was to chop off a few inches off of the Hammerhead. I find that hard to do on an NOS UNI Hammerhead...
BTW, what mini are you working on?

Ive got an 85 GT jr. The f&f were NOS when I got it. Here's a little snippet of it. Ive since replaced the 1 3/8 wheels with more appropriate sewups with the exact same tires as yours. I'm needing NOS quality first gen GT hubs and hutch mini pedals to finish her up. Oh Ive also replaced the bars with some NOS first gen jr powerlite bars that are sweeeet!

edit: the more I look at your bike, the more Im liking that hammerhead on that bike. The angles on everything seem to fit perfectly when looking at photo of it from the side view dead on. That's a great build bro. Ranks up there with John's lil holeshot from a year or so ago.

Thats damn nice there too

I havnt decided on the colors for mine. Ill probably let the pads I get dictate that since they seem to be the hardest to find. I had a set black repops but they werent that great so I sold them. Ill probably be tinkering with this bike forever. Seems like I already have.
Nice builds you got. THanks for sharing

What bars are on the 83 GT..seem to have a GT decal on them.
Blazer looks great, not feelin the pedals though.. Leave the seat

Not much else to do with the seat unless he cut it down, and I prolly wouldnt go there either.
When did Hutch come out with the mini pedals? Seems like KKTs would be more fitting to the timeframe but on a build like this, you want to go with the best parts. Tough call there. Not sure which direction Id go there either.

Bars are GT mini bars
Hutch pedals came out in mid 83. I originally had rat traps but to me they are more fitting on a late 70s build. I wanted to stay away from KKT but it looks like I have no choice since these Hutch mini pedals are going on my aluminum Hutch Lawsuit

Someone in the past had asked me the same question about my mini bars on 0s-bmx and I think it might have been you
The bars were bought as NOS so I have always looked at them as true GT mini bars. Thanks to JohnnyRingo and his PDF collection of BMXA downloads, I found an Ad from Nov of 82 that shows how wide true GT mini's should be.
The bars came from a respectable collector so I had no reason to doubt him....

You wouldn't happen to have that photo of the ad would you?
I'm curious of them too. Like Matt, I'm kind of skeptical on them being GT as they just dont resemble any other GT bar. I certainly could be wrong though. I love a good mystery.

This is the GT ad from Nov 82 in BMXA and it doesn't show any mini bars nor do they resemble yours on that GT. You sure it was Nov 82?

that's the Ad
You understood me wrong. I am saying that the Ad shows them being wider then my bars so more then likely, my bars are not GT's
