All unofficial SE bikes in this thread don't count! haha...nice bikes though

I just picked this one up last week. I have to change out the seat cause it's not quite white. More like a cream color and the seat is already showing dye from my jeans. Gotta get a black SE seat and new pedals as well.
I also have the team blue OM still in the box that I will build up as soon as I get a few replacement parts.

Am I missing something?

Looks like a 30th Anniversary PK, with chrome LG's with brake mounts, and some various other parts swapped out.

Oh...and some custom pads.

Then how does that explain the 30th anniversary PK exclusive Tuffs and stock tires?

Look again and see if you can figure it out....

First, I'll say the freestyle Quads come with front brakes from the factory. I don't know if the LG's came in chrome, but that is easily remedied.

I know it isn't a stock 30th PK because of some subtle differences.

Could it be the 1/3 scale PK some one on the boards was making?

If it is, I would be completely BLOWN AWAY!
chicagopat
A full scale PK, not a 1/3 scale model. A 20" BMX. tongue.gif

A factory prototype, then?

What?

I'm either blind, or stupid.

What's the big mystery?!

Congrats to Capt. Nemo!!!! I was wondering when somebody was going to figure it out. That is the factory prototype for the Retro "PK RIPPERS". The only one in existence. Different geometry, longer top tube, raw cranks and levers, one of a kind pads, and no serial number. I was waiting for somebody to figure this one out and I knew it would be you. smile.gif

You had to be the builder or Einstein to figure that out dry.gif Shall we play another game of 20 questions?

I just noticed my new OM doesn't have the dent in the frame next to the chainwheel. I like it. Did the 09 team blue OMs gave the dent?

I agree, it would be cool to see a 4130 OM.

My old 99 alloy Quad....since been broken down awaiting a rebuild "probably wont run the stem riser lol again lol"...Jr. wanted the Tuffs for his Street Beat...I love this frame !

My 07 retro Quad...Just finished this one last spring...was my main rider all summer, hope to actually try to race this beast someday...

Also have my OG looptail PK from bitd and a 07 Retro PK that I plan to build up eventually...SE 4-Ever

Todge
Here's my PK.

Nice retro's, once I get brakes for mine, my 07 quad will be done.

Incredible bike Todge...perfect color combo.
I just scored an incredible deal on a 2009 Quadangle frame and fork that I hope to build up soon and post.

Thanks, I've been holding out for news on the 24'' Skyway T/A as my next build. But its getting close to winter and I'm getting the itch to build another one. I might have to start looking for a 24" Quadangle. Love those things.

Was hoping to see gold ano on SE Blue frame to see how it looks or SE blue on white Frame, Anybody?
DanThrift
Just saw that the 2010s are on the SE website.

I always wanted a really trick looking Quadangle bitd , but couldn't afford one....
Building up a trick 1980 looptail Quad (with all the triangles) as a rider today would be insane/impossible.
So I bought a US made 1997 Quad with all the triangles & tricked it up with some old & new stuff.

If you can pick or bypass these SAF-LOK cuffs without using a key or diamond blade anglegrinder , you can have the bikes.

Notes:
1 inch Original Bottema plugged forks fitted to 1 & 1/8th head tube.
Cammo Pads , Frame & Bars NOS , Neck pad survivor from whenever they were new in the early 1980's.
Ted Carl's first batch Flanges on the newish skool sealed bearing graphite Tuff's.
Nicely worn in Brown Suede Kashimax seat.
Mandatory X Caliber seat clamp fitted the right way for the seat tube cut.
If the tires are too loud for your tatse , I can fit a set of black alloy flanged Tuffs with Comp 3's , but I won't.
DX pedals from the 21st century, well prepped then painted black.
10 inch rise GT bars (repo) I could only find 1 set of originals , still have 3 sets of the GT Pro bars I've owned since new smile.gif
Early Full wrap dual pinch sealed bearing Flites.
Brushed Alloy Pro Neck (safer round corners model)
Rear Brakes that work really well smile.gif
Some really neat handgrips with allen key clamps @ both ends.

Always liked SE bikes they were a Legend in their own time.
Closest I got to SE Racing bitd , was a 20-30 minute chat in the shade with Perry Kramer in the pits at a major race meeting here in Oz.

Can't really put a price or rebuild that conversation.

Nice bike! I am not trying to start anything here, but have you considered going with taller bars? Even with what appears to be a flex fighter, I cant help but think that stem quill has got to be stressed.

Thanks!

Yep, I do powder coating so I did everything but the frame which is the factory SE powder. The cranks are the new Crupi rhythm 2pc cranks with the "B.O.B." external BB bearings. VERY smooth!

The other note worth parts are the double cross bar with Plite bend handle bars which a buddy of mine fabricated up, Stealth cassette hubs with custom made rear cog, TI spokes, & a Thompson 6 bolt stem. The rest of the parts are carbon but look black in the picture.
Joe
SWEET! those cranks really flow with that area of the team quad. really dig that.
