So, We have the Best Built Racer thread and a few others threads of the sort. I could not find one with all SE Racing builds. Tons of threads with SE bikes, but not one dedicated to the kick @$$ SE builds. Old, Mid, New, Now, Big, Small, Short, Tall, SE Racing builds. Show them off, ooohhh and aaahhh with everyone else. I'll start happy.gif

What did you do to polish the frame? Did you do it by hand or take it to a buffer? I want to get some new chrome forks for my OM but if polishing would work I think it might be cheaper.
DanThrift
I used Mother's polish and a polishing ball for most of the frame. A dremel for some of the small areas. Eventually worked it down to buffing with a cloth by hand. The fork is made of steel (cro-mo). It will have to be chrome plated to get that kind of a shine. If you haven't read it yet, check out Ted Carl's thread on polishing. Tons of really good info and photos.
DanThrift
BTW, I too plan on buying a chrome plated 26" Landing Gear as it cheaper than sending my fork to a plater but, everyone (it seems) ON EARTH is sold-out of 26" Landing Gears due to the current plague of "fixies". Ed Ferri @ Planet BMX / Coloredtuffs says that more 26" Landing Gears are coming.

Everyone, sweet sweet bikes! I can only hope that more people post their killer SE builds as well.

Capt. Nemo, You collect SE's like dorks collect comics lol. Do you have snow tires on the blue & white OM?
Dewabo, do you find it difficult to pedal? happy.gif
Bleu, it isn't a competition tongue.gif
Some really cool bikes here - The Red Quad is tight, the polished OM. Very good stuff wink.gif

Funny you say that. This dork DOES collect comics. Toys, too. tongue.gif The phrase "collect them all" is my mantra.

No snow tires on the white OM, just good old Comp 3 style treads. I posted THAT pic to show my bikes get ridden. No matter the weather. biggrin.gif

I love to see what other people have done with their SE's. Great thread topic!

Not all of these are true SE, but we had to do something before they got into the retro game.

Ones I no longer have:

- 16" Supercross Skunk Pit

- 24" Kappa OM Flyer

- 26" Supercross Quad Flyer
bbohlmann
The ones I do still have:

- 20" Kappa Quad

- SE Retro Quad

- 20" Kappa PK-20

- 24" Supercross Skunk Quad

- SE OM Flyer

I also have a built new school SE Floval Flyer that I don't have a good picture of yet.

My Retro Quadangle, it has just taken 1st place in the RADBMX.co.uk MK09 Retro class.

I have recently changed the cranks to SE Racing 180mm and changed the sprocket to a Snap Series II.

Have you tried the SE site? They have a newer link to their parts and they say they are in stock.

I did look at the site but 26" LGs were out of stock.

My SE rep told me that new forks should be in within the month. Fingers crossed...

I am sooo there! Thanks for the info, Ed. I knew you'd have the inside scoop. I'm really blown away by all the cool bikes in this thread. The old gold PK, the chrome quads, too much to list. Awsome thread, Thanks Collapse.

Hopefully my 2008 OM Flyer will be done shortly; I'd like to get some riding in before it gets cold. Bought it as a frame & fork & have been gathering up parts to build when I find good deals. It'll be mostly red with a little gold. I just built the wheels; first time I've built a set since the mid 80's (and I've wanted a set of Bullseye hubs since then also). Here's some quick pics for now:

They came red anodized from Sun. Not sure what years (maybe about 6 or 8 years ago?). I found them on eBay about 2 years ago & finally have something to put them on.
