Hey Jeff, stupid question:

Is it okay to powder an assembled wheelset (Minus bearings and hub guts)? I know they do it in the rat rod world, I was just wondering what you thought.

I suppose, there`s nothing specifically "wrong" with it. IMHO it wouldn`t look good. I made a fixture for coating spokes, though. The real downside is that if you ever had to true the wheel you`d break the powder at the spoke/nipple connection if you did a complete wheel.

Cooper tire does a lot of spoked wheel sets for the rod industry and looking at them, you would swear they are powdering an assembled wheel.

I could be wrong.

It`s done all the time in other industries. I`m on some PC forums and ppl are always showing pics of whole wheels coated, just usually MX wheels
