It taught me to take what you can get, when you can get it. smile.gif

For those who don't know me, I'm about as straight as it gets.

Just a joke.
Lonewolf
But if I were that way, Race_Inc would certainly be on my short list!

Second view is on it's way.

Here is the start of mine. I still have a fair amount to do. It's a cruiser, using the same geometry as the 125RC. It's a little tough to tell maybe, but, the lower tube(s) are 1 continuous tube.

Wow!

Dig the head tube wrap.
race_inc
I will say this though, Lonewolf, that design of yours is sick man! I would definitely ride a bike like that.

That means a lot, man. Thanks. The isometric view is coming along fine. I don't know cad, but I'm making it look like cad, because I can burn it up on Photo Shop.

It might be tonight and you guys will see that the top tube might actually be stronger than the bottom tube, even though it might not look like it from the side.

Should I go with 3D drop outs?
race_inc
I would leave the dropouts as is. I think the 3-D drops would overpower the clean and simple rear loops.
Lonewolf
K thanks.
Gary Mason WWR
Wish I had cad .
ufoDziner
It's a fair amount of work to do a frame in cad. Especially if there is a bunch of flowing or weird angles like on Lonewolf's or mine.

Okay, second view. I still need to add a cross brace between top wishbone.

It looks way better on my computer than when it shows up on the net. Hope you guys like it.
Mattblack
Wow cool.gif Just found this thread

Really top ideas here
I like the designs and I'm sure I won't sleep tonight when I try to close my eyes?

Did notice 1 thing Standard 125RC geometry Rocks biggrin.gif

Lonewolf, I want to ride that bike. Can you easily put skin on the TT and see what that looks like?

I guess I could do it to the whole thing. We'll see what happens. Very glad you like it, Jeer.
Lonewolf
Just remember. That's a drawing. That is not a 3D program. I don't know Cad, but I've seen what Pro E drawings can look like. That's what I tried to make it look like.

Latest iteration.
ufoDziner
Looks great. I hope you win. I would really like to see that built. Although, I wish you would have done it in 24". Mine is still in the exact same state (unfinished). I'm gonna try and work on it here in the next couple days. It will get completed, just not sure if it will be by the time the contest ends. I think they get the idea though.

Mattblack
I don't want to enter but wouldn't mind a 16' frame and forks for my little one?

I don't think it has to be fancy? But Lonewolf that is nice.

Got lots of ideas
My old line up. There something in the pic here people always ask me to make them but is to big to ship overseas?

indylodown
Matt the Standard hack is way cool!!

I'm assuming these designs should be actually do-able by Standard in order to win? As awesome as it looks, that frame seems a bit more complicated than adding a gusset, frame stand or double top/down tubes.

I haven't submitted a frame design and am not planning on it, although thinking about what a person would want in their own frame is a fun exercise.
GR8BNDINI
So do you guys have you finalists?

DREAM BIG.

Thanks for the nice comments, dudes.
Strike, I was just following instructions. It's not the space shuttle.

Removing the rear loop would simplify this frame a lot. It would also dramatically change the look. I am considering doing a view, but I already have over 40 hours in this thing. I'm done with it unless I'm given a reason to continue.

I think this would be a fabulous way for Standard to demonstrate it's custom fabrication ability.

Might make for a really interesting thread, as well.
STRIKE
Cool, just curious.
superjeer
I'd like a 26" cruiser frame with racing geometry to be as close as possible with the 125r/125rc feel and room for front suspension forks, integrated etched headtube, etched drops, euro BB, in cleared raw with matching bars. Something with a straight as possible TT to seat stay line (a Black Market three57 competitor, essentially). V-Brake posts, or even 990s under the seat stays. Something to race/trail ride with.

<-- inspiration (Sorry Faust)

Being Rick has been out of town, and I just had a baby, its time to decide a winner. design must be FEASIBLE something SBC can build with out going to extream. I have my design figured out. who is yours?
nvmyslowride
I WILL GIVE TIL 5 PM TO MAKE LAST MIN CHANGES. SINCE WE ARE OVER DUE ANYWAYS!
Lonewolf
This bike fits in the shadow of the current Standard 125R. This means the general layout and geometry is exact. I read the writing on the wall for the "Supercorsa".

I revised my design with relative simplicity of construction in mind, while preserving basic profile and "feel".

whereas the first was series of short stories, my newest version can be read more as a novel.

I hope you guys enjoy my revision just as much and if not, at least you know it's origin.

I put a colossal amount of time in this thing.

I enjoyed participating in this contest and I hope you liked them both.

Did I win, yet? I can't wait to ride it. If lonewolf's design wins, I'll still accept the bike. tongue.gif

Gerneral layout is similar but this bike is slammed. Top tube curves in a gradual arch and then sweeps upward towards seat tube- slightly downward towards the head tube.
Rear triangle has been slammed and a loop tail added. Tube windows were closed up for purposes of simplicity.

Rest of the frame can be seen on earlier picture.

Just saw this thread (I don't visit much in the summer, too busy...) and I too thought there'd be a ton of designs... Guess it's too late to enter?

First, congrats on the baby. Nothing can come before that and it's a big moment in anyone's life. I was always too scared to get married, because I never wanted to be divorced. For those with more faith in others than me, I wish you reward and happiness.

The pink Standard is forming up very well.

Okay, Since no one is voting or paying attention (and you say you have your design figured out), which is it?

How will a decision be made?

Do pre existing files count (Files not made for this contest, but existing on a computer)?

BTW, I have no problem with something like that, because it was someone's favorite design. I don't think it should matter when it was created.

I spent a tremendous amount of time (over 45hrs.), released intellectual property for viewing, well before contest end (at your request), got a lot of good reviews by a lot of different people and then modified my design in order to have a chance of being considered.

I won't lie, I entered to win. I think it's obvious. Seems like more than a few people think that as well.

You said Standard would pick 6 designs and then open it up to a vote.
When does this happen?
