83 --- never really got popular -- Buff sported'em on his chrome quad for a stint
they had to be re-enforced with zipties -- which made them sorta annoying to deal with - plus caused extra unnecessary damage to the finish of your rig
i guess they were sorta the predecessors to the canti U-plate

thanks for the quick reply. i hadn't recalled seeing them bitd but i saw the old acs logo and i kinda figured it was one of those items that didn't fly. i couldn't just leave them there. it looks to be both front and rear brake setup. any pics of buff using them?

- do they look different ? - i thought it was the same for either front or rear .....
i had a fews sets and sold them a few yrs ago - i'd like a set for the showcase if there was another and you have access
as for pics - if you have the z rims or hubs ad that he is riding the chrome quad - its one of the few pic that you can see them - i don't believe they ever advertised them specifically, i may be wrong but i don't ever remember seeing one ---- i think he also did a step by step in the freestyle section where you can see that same bike with them in place (i'm away on vacation so i have no mags to check and see what month)

the package says..."acs bmx cantilever brake 10789 10790" both sets in the same package. the instructions show mounting for front and back.

Here's an ad I found in the Sept '83 issue of BMXA. I'd love to get a hold of a pair of those pedals.

i can see the difference in the height of the mounting brackets but mine are the same size. the difference in mine is only the base of the brake arm where it attaches to the canti mount.
