This year looks to be another good one.. The super park bowl looks like it's going to make a good show... Looks like the motorcycle front flip may be the trick of the year.....
But BMX Big Air going off, that is going to be sick... Mirra is going to be stoke!

Why that lady is commenting on top of the Big Ramp is beyond me.. She dosen't know anything.. THey showed some of the park quilifying.. Gary Young was going fast... But looks like alot of the Dew Tour guys are screwed.. no box jump.. Mostly flow type guys will rule..

Pages' Front Flip
Pastrana 360 Flip

The guy that is going to attempt the front flip lives about 50 mins from me.. He's been in all the papers. Looks like moto best trick is going to be something to see this year..
Tonight is the night to watch... Alot of BMX going down too.. The street course looks pretty burely this year.. I want to see some good 360s down those stairs.. I see Brian K got in... Seems he mostly does peg grinds.. Garrett R. looks to win again..

I couldn't believe that either! Some other huge street names didn't make it either - Sean Sexton, Seth Kimbrough for example.
Check the video on Ride BMX, the whole field was throwing down.

That vid really did nothing for me.... It looked like a bunch of bunnyrabbits hopping up and down... lots of harsh landings, lol.
Street nowdays is kinda wierd, some of it I like, some not. when it is just rails and squares, and you are hopping around on them, it doesnt interest me... doesnt even look fun.

The double front was somethin, shoulda got a medal at least for that one. The guy did somethin that nobody else can do. He captivated his peers and the audience, judges gave him 5th? I guess because he didn't do much on the quarter.

The double front flip was pretty sick.. Truely sick..But you can't reward the guy when he does a dead air on the other side everytime.. If he would have even did a tailwhip he would have gold.. Not sure why he did a dead air after the front flip, both times..
But that is the BMX highlight so far.... That makes regular vert riding seem sort of small...

A huge, huge acomplishment but yeah, he didn`t do much on the quarter and it is, after all, a big air contest. Mirra going for the Air Traffic Controller over the 70 foot was siiiiiick. As crazy as that trick is it was getting old hat seeing it done every_single_run over the 50 foot. Mirra is the KING, but he didn`t do anything new this year.
Danny Way. WOW. Not only riding, but WINNING mega rail on a torn up knee and ankle on the SAME LEG.
Pastrana. I give much respect to him. Didn`t pull the 360 flip and crashed, and had the restraint to know "hey, I`ve been here before. I`m probably gonna get hurt if I keep it up" and dead sailoring his last two runs.

Now on to Super Park.. Don't look for any new tricks there. There is no real box jump to jump over. I seen there was one area where they were flying out that was similar to a box. Looks like Daniel Dehrs may not repeat this year.. I'd like to see some new faces up there.. Looks like Gary young and Chase Hawk may get some medals this year which would be a change..

Remember the name of the event is
big air. While the double front was most assuredly sick and ground breaking, his airs on 1/4 pipe were not.

While Danny gets huge respect from me competing in his injured state that whole event was just yawnsville. I so desperatly wanted to see anyone land anything let alone a sweet technical grind. It was seriously boring.

For vert riding, one trick I'd like to see brought back into fashion is the fakie air. Seeing flair after flip after tailwhip after flair is starting to get boring. Although seeing Simon's one hand one foot 900 was rad.
Edit-Just seeing 900's is rad also.

I gotta say MX Best Tricked totally sucked. Most of them crashed. Don't remember who the guy was (that's how uninteresting this event was this year) he didn't even do a trick on his 2 jumps. LAME! The guys that pulled their tricks (a couple anyways) were pretty rad but stuff that has been seen before. Sorry but I was not impressed.

Chad Kagy does seem rather intent on pulling one lately doesn't he? Even though K-Rob nailed his a couple years ago we have not seen anyone try that trick seriously until Kagy started lately. I hope he sticks one. I for one really respect Chad as I feel he is a great rider who is rather underated and underestimated many times. He also seems to get a raw deal from the judges a lot of the time. It must be tough competing in Bestwicks shadow. Chad is not afraid to go big and try new stuff and ride to the edge of his abilities. While Jamie is truly an excellent rider and deserves all of the wins he gets, I can't help but feel most of time since he has noone to really push him he doesn't just go for it. The sad thing is he still is in a whole other echeleon of vert riding. I have heard that he actually has a huge bag of crazy tricks we have never seen that he is saving for just for that day.

I dunno about it sucking... While the contest was not as exciting as it could have been with so many of the heavy hitters not making their tricks and Loza using the same trick he won with last year to pull out the win this year, overall it still was crazy. It is funny you mention the crashes. I was really wondering going into this year if Travis would pull his trick. Yes I know it was Pastrana and he is a phenominal rider but man they hyped him up so much and one's reign of perfection can only last so long. I remember back in the old days (late nineties) when Mirra was absolutely unstoppable in park and vert. It seemed that no matter what contest he entered he took first for the stetch of about 3 to 4 years. Then boom one day he just wasn't winning. I kinda feel like maybe Travis may have hit that finally. They are both still excellent riders and will go down in history but it does seem "every dog has his day"...

Jamie is truely a step above the rest of the guys right now... Chad and the rest of the guys on the deck are awesome riders, but Jamie has a little more.. You have to see it in person to really get the idea of why Jamie keeps winning. His airs are consistantly higher, hard tricks... Granted, if that crash had happened in his second run instead of his third, it would have knocked him out of the medals. If he makes a mistake, the other guys are close enough to beat him, but his riding is sooooo dialed. TV does the vert riding no justice...

Scotty Cranmer wins park!
It was a long road back from the foot injury, I spoke with him last year at Interbike and he never lost confidence in his abilities or his desire to come back. This kid is absolutly amazing on a bike!
Gold and silver in the same week at two different comps. You can't ask for more than that.
