I was looking for a mini for my daughter on Craigslist yesterday when I ran across an ad listing an old Haro for cheap. I checked it out and called the guy. Ran to his house after work and picked it up.

It appears to be a 91 or 92 Haro Ground Master (still trying to ID it). It came with Peregrine HP 48s, vintage GT seatpost clamp, Fusion chainwheel (original I think), Dia-Compe 990s, some mid-school Dyno bars & stem.

Thanks Rich!!! It's definitely gonna be a rider.

Since it's so close to the earlier Master's (except for the peg bosses and some minor details), my idea is to paint it like either an '87 blue/black Master or the '87 Team Master. Still trying to decide which before I order decals.

Besides, the '91 graphics are ugly. wink.gif

Thanks!!!

Can't sleep so I started taking it apart. Started cleaning up the wheels. They're OK, but they're not gonna be beautiful. I'm thinking maybe a pair of white Tuffs might be in order.

I'd buy that from you as a rider just to keep those Peregrines on there. wink.gif

i would agree with that only if they were super pro's.

Nope, just regular anodized HP-48s. If they were chrome Super Pro's it wouldn't even be a question. smile.gif

I'll post some pics later of what the rims look like later. They're not beat, but they've definitely been ridden (lots of little scratches).

Disassembled the front wheel today. Started cleaning up the spokes (which really sucks) and it made a big difference. I haven't laced a wheel in about 16 years, should be fun. smile.gif

Cleaned up and rebuilt the front wheel today. It's not trued yet, but pretty close. Close enough for a bike without front brakes yet anyways wink.gif

Here you can see the scratches on the rim.

There's a few bigger gouges like this on both wheels sad.gif

And I took the Odyssey Barefeet off my FBM Night Train and put 'em on the Haro. They're getting pretty dry rotted, but still way cool. (this is the FBM)

Sick man!!!! Clean it up and make it shine!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I don't feel that this bike should be in "mid-school". I feel that the 87-88 Haros should make the mark for the old school cut off.

It's a 91 Ground Master. I'm gonna paint it like an 88 Team Issue though.

It's gonna get an OA bath next weekend. Then I just have to wait for the decals to arrive so I can get the correct colors (paint might be a little while).
