I just scored one of these....its all chromed but rust took over alot of it.

I have a few questions I tried to search for answers for with no luck.

How do I know what year it is? It has a ZXxxxx serial number.

Did the ZX Pro o0nly come chromed? Did it come in colors? I am considering having it powder coated and restoring it as a colored bike.

How do I know which decal set is correct?

THe ZX Pro was introduced in 1983 and made till 85 or 86 when CW went taiwanese. Chrome was the most popular color but I have seen factory riders in red and yellow...even white. Not sure how production colors were though. I have seen all the varients of decals on chrome frames...chrome backing with gray letters (like my 2 ZX Pros and 1 Phase 1) and blue lettering or red lettering on chrome backing.

Ya I found that in my research, doesn't mention much about the ZX Pro though other than which serial number prefix they had. Nothing about dating them, or color options etc.
