Hey,
After 12+ years of owning an Aquila, I finally started riding it on single track trails. When I initially purchased there where no single track trails around, or so I thought. Within the last few years a handful of trails are now available.
I've been riding all summer and will probably look for a new bike, maybe a 29'er in the spring. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get this bike on real trails.
Thing is, I don't want to give up the Aquila and would like to get a front suspension for it.
I took it into a shop, and it has a 1 1/8 threaded fork. I would need new forks, headset, stem, and V brakes to upgrade the suspension. They want $300+ to do it.
After looking for parts online I think I can do it for just under $200.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience upgrading this bike. I'm thinking that my best bet might be to order a new headset first, just to make sure it fits, then order the remaining parts.
I was looking at the Rock Shox Dart 2. I'm just looking for comparable parts nothing too high end.
Thanks for any info,
Mark
