my khe beater "20 at the time was woefully undersized for my lanky '6"3 frame and riding it to college everyday was (literally) a pain in the arse!
i didnt want the bulk of a "26 mtb so built this "24 on a meagre student budget, i had the cranks for 3 months before i could even afford the frame!
which, tbh is a cheap ruption alloy race frame,
stem was a gift,
so were the s&m c4 bars (my missus, lol)
the rest was scrimped and saved for,
i stripped the frame&fork of its yellow powder in my campus kitchen,
then painted it with a rattle can,
the idea was to have cool bike to commute on that looked like my old school and much loved ripper,
lastly, the stickers are GENUINE se racing NOS pk ripper!
£12 from shiner uk,
there wasnt even much of an old school scene at the time so an actual "retro" was pretty much un-heard of,
this is the only pic i have of it as i didnt own a camera at the time,

i cant find an earlier "retro" so am claiming invention of the whole movement lol!
show me an earlier build?
