Race Inc dude
I bought a bike awhile back and it had some chrome tioga cro-mo bars on it. I rode roughly 1978-1983 and I don't remember tioga bars. Does anybody know what era these bars were produced. Seems like they are tall, knurled clamp area, welds look awesome, nice chrome. I have RA-7 build going on and not sure if these are era correct.

Like these?

I have a pair on one of my GTs. they are kinda smaller, like most bars in the very early 80s. I think they are from 80 to 83 timeframe. They look kinda big on the photo above but thats one of those small diamond back stems. They arent nearly as big as powerlite or GT pros.

yup, that's them. So I am era correct, I am trying to build the bike back to what I had as a kid. In 80 I had silver Race Inc. bars but I actually like the rise better with these tioga but since I don't race this bike I will probably look for the Race Inc. bars. Anyone want to trade tioga's for Race Inc. bars?

Thanks for the great info, I wonder why I don't remember tioga bars. Would they have been considered a lower end bar in that era? They actually look like a nice product.

By the time I got into racing and upgrading my bikes, powerlites were king and all I even cared about. I had some Galindo bars on one of my thrash bikes cuz i liked the way they looked and that was the only 2 bars I ever used. Well, i used the stock GT pro bars on a lake jumping bike for a while. lol if i could turn back time...
