Very aerodynamic. Looks cooler on BMX than road bikes.

the main problem i noticed with all mag wheels, weather it is the graphite skyways, or the spin carbon wheels, or the synergy wheels, and at last the aerospoke wheels, you cannot true the wheels, let me say this again, you cannot true the wheels on any mag wheels, thats why spoke rims are always more popular. this is the main reason why i stopped buying mag wheels, yes they look cool, but when they go out of whack, you go out of wack(losing your temper)?

No you stay cool and stick them in the freezer!

If you're knocking carbon fiber mags out of true, I can't imagine the damage you would have done to spoked wheels.
CHECKEREDxVANS72
hey grey, i like mag wheels, but they dont hold up to a nice set of spoke rims, you can always fix spokes, once a mag wheel, made out of carbon or whatever hits a bad bump or goes out of wack, it stays that way, and its not that they break, its the truing part, you end up with a wobbily wheel, this had been going on since the early 80s, nonthing has changed. I have seen a couple of aerospoke wheels on a fixie wobble all over the place, their was no way my buddy could make the mag wheel go back to spinning straight, and he wasnt even riding that hard, spin wheels have a horrible track record, my old graphite skyway mags did the same thing, and i was just cruising around, not even riding hard.

Just my two cents, but I am completely anti on the aerospoke look. Tuff wheels, sure, nice classic look.

But these just look dopey to me.

Love SE though...
CHECKEREDxVANS72
hey 1984 i also they the aerospoke wheels should only stay on the road bikes and the fixies.

I like the look of these as I did spins back in the day but I imagine the same issues that plagued the spins also will be present in this product. Mainly if you under rotate a 360 or 540, kiss them goodbye. They are great for going fast in a straight line but will never hold up to freestyle riding. Also at 800 bucks-ish a set there is not way most BMXers are gonna buy a set. Tuffs are alot "tuffer" and were/are cheap.

No Miami Hop Hops with those wheels.
JiveHandle
How much do they weigh compared to spoked wheels?

I like Tuffs, and these look cool, too. But I think CheckeredVans is right. Mags are inferior to spoke wheels in terms of performance. If you want to put a set of these on, they will look cool, but they come with some drawbacks. they have a propensity to crack, and also like he said, once they are out of true, they stay that way. If you can live with the risk, then by all means, these will look cool on your ride.

Honestly, I prefer spokes, to mags. I just wasn't aware of carbon fiber wheels warping that easily. I know it's possible to unseat the aluminum rim, but from what I've heard that can be fixed with a god smack from a rubber mallet.

you know how much a halfway decent set of 20" wheels costs, right? my own wheels were around $500 and they sure aren't anything special.

no, i don't ride tuffs anymore, but i did in the late 90's and i liked them. they look cool, are rather inexpensive and hold up to quite a bit of abuse. even jim c rode that orange tuff for a while ...
