This isnt mine I am only posting in case someone is looking for one.

Why do people post this stuff? I have a buddy that's in OKC that is trying to score this...Now this guy will probably get 10 e-mails w/people offering him big money. Then the guy will probably say he won't ship the bike, but when my buddy goes to make an offer he will say that he has a offer of "X" amount from a person that he won't ship the bike too...So the possibility of my buddy getting a "score" just went out the window...Not cool...

I don't understand why people post craigslist/ebay auctions, etc. - People search craigslist and ebay everyday for stuff like this...If someone is too dumb to find it by searching the internet themselves, they don't want it bad enough... laugh.gif ...

On the flipside if you were looking for one of these bikes on this site and came across his link to craigslist you'd be thankful. There's good and bad in everything and you just can't please everyone. Don't crucify the guy for trying to help people out.

Yea, he helped my buddy out to get the bike right?...it's on ebay now for $1200 buy it now...Like I said above, if I can't find the bike myself, I guess I didn't want it bad enough...and it isn't even worth $500...Most likely because of this post, the guy got a ton of emails telling him how valuable the bike is, just like I said and boom, it ends up on ebay for $1200, I'm pretty sure I was right on this one Brandon, but I like that you are attempting to bring a positive attitude to the site...After a while when you see this junk going on daily, you'll get sick of it too... happy.gif

I have been guilty of this "sin" as well. Fortunately, mine was only a local for sale site and I happened to be the only guy to call on it since the guy posted it. Two weeks prior. I couldn't pick it up so I thought I would help the guy, and a lucky VBMX forum member out.

On the other hand, I have to agree with Mike. Mike said it best in that if you aren't the first one on it, you didn't want it bad enough. Don't believe me? Have Mike send you some pics of his collection. The dude knows what he is talking about.

Late nights searching the internet. Researching through old posts, websites and archived content. Befriending others like yourself and creating a good list of contacts. Collecting your favorite "old" parts. Building the bike you always wanted. Hell, riding/racing the bike you always wanted. That is what this mid-school thing is all about.

I know that the OP was just trying to help out and I am sure that the eventual buyer and seller are both real happy. However, the term "score" doesn't mean that you're the chump that payed for what everyone else wouldn't.

OP, no hard feelings and thanks for the info.

I agree with everything you said Boss...Networking is HUGE in getting parts that you want...The reason I came across so harsh in this post is the same guy that was trying to "score" this, let me know about the crusader II that I have, drove 2 1/2 hours to go pick it up for me AND shipped it to my house...He is like a brother to me and I have never met him...I sent him damn near a grand via western union so he could go pick up the bike for me...That's trust...So when someone screws with him or something he is trying to score, I take it personal too...

I guess it's all fair in love and BMX...Ride on brothas! wink.gif

that bike is gay anyway.

That bike wont even pull 500.00. Just the way it is. Pull the blade and start a zero auction, potential 200.00 maybe more. Just the way it is. I know.

I always wanted a teal KEX. So much that I painted my Boss teal. I'd still love to have a 24.

He knew he could get a good price for it... he was just too lazy to put it on eBay at first. I race with the seller and he has tried to sell the fork/hub/wheel and bike to me several times. He knows what he has, so no one would have picked it up for garage sale "Score" as he paid top dollar for it in the first place.

Cool...But it's not worth 1200 tongue.gif Can you ask him how he has his stem set up? I am not sure if his frame is a 1" headtube or a 1 1/8"...It looks like he might be using a 1" fork on a 1 1/8" frame...

Wasn't that fork already recalled by the time that frame came out? The thought the uniblades were all with Chromoly frames painted in Imron . . .

I once posted a local listing hoping to hook a member or two up....this was on another site. I actually got a warning not to do that anymore for the same reasons this typic started.

So much for trying to be nice.

That's definetly a 1" head tube. That was the standard uni-blade set up back then. I don't believe the KEX was ever offered with a 1 1/8" set up, but I am wrong a lot of the times. I remember the chromoly Pro Lines came out after, then there was Kastan's aluminum frames soon after. Around that time they were fabricating DK's and Mosh's.

Those Redline tapered forks were pretty beefy, which from what I understand, after the sale of RedLine to SBS, Linn Kastan had a decent amount of half finished RedLine tapered forks since I think in the sale, SBS only received completed inventory. That's why some Uni-blades are left or right side. Something about Mr. Kastan having a fondness of flying, particularly Lear Jets, which have a front landing gear somewhat similar looking to a "uni-blade", inspired the idea. I dunno, I thought I'd never jump with that and I was pretty smooth BITD.

If I had a Uni-blade, I'd treasure it. I doubt I would ride with it though. I'd love to have a KEX 24 and put some regular forks on it (S&M, Free Agent, Boss, ELF, LG's). I'd want it teal too, hmm, teal w/ black LG's ... I miss my old Kastan bars. I had some of the first run pro-sized, unstamped and more of a "Powerlite" curve than the downward curve that came to be. I liked the down curve ones (cruiser) too and wish I had both back!

I am in no way, shape or form willing to fork over that kind of cash, but I hope if anyone does they take care of it. If anyone knows of a decent condition KEX 24 frame for sale, let me know. I will hug it and hold it and love it and squeeze it and call him George.
