Everyone is entitled to their opinion obviously, but I was very impressed with the quality of the 09 Team Blue OM I had - super tight, no noise from the cranks, wheels, nada and I rode it on the track / street and put considerable miles on it and made no mods to it whatsoever - I weigh 200lbs as well. I do have a high end bike to compare it to, a S&M 38 Special 24" and I must say considering the OM cost 1/3 of what my S&M ended up costing the SE was a great value for a new, complete 26" ride.

I bought a 29" Ripper as well. -Only thing I did not like on the Big Ripper was I (and alot of other folks had the same prob) had to get a stem lock for the HS to stay tight -other than that no probs and love the bike.

I bought a 24" quad loop and a pk loop last year. The only problem part I had were the pedals which I replaced on both bikes. What kind of stem lock did you use? Think I might be getting that lovely Big Ripper.

I want a OM Flyer in "Green for the money, Gold for the honeys". That thing is overtop crazy looking. Love it!

Yeah, you probably wouldn't like it. You might end up riding further than from home to middle school, since you can actually pedal and sit down at the same time.

Sitting down? Isn't this a BMX site?

Yes, a vintage BMX site -- as in, bikes you can actually ride. Remember riding? 26" = cruiser, not one of those midget toys with the seatpost slammed and the saddle pointing straight up the kid's arse.

Metal Plate wrap. And peep the dark gray ano alloy parts. Stealth Mode!

I must also say this: an anthracite or base tone average of what the metal flake looks like when you are squinting your eyes would do equally well.

I wouldn't ever buy a wrapped bike, but I would certainly consider getting my hands on a "dim metaltone" example.

Who the heck sits down to pedal? If i'm gonna sit down for a casual ride, I'll take my SS MTB.
If I wanna hammer down & pedal fast on my BMX bike, I'll stand up.

I'm not excited at all about any SE bike that has cantilever brakes because these brakes totally suck when combined with a gyro! I did this with my 2000 PK Ripper and it's a $1000 disappoinment. Some people like using a lightweight race F & F modded for freestyle. Kids did this back in the 80's too! My freestyle modded Hutch Pro weighes 28 lbs and has been my best and main bike since 1983.

But a PK Ripper with 990s - YUM!

I can't believe someone has not asked this, or have they?

Todd,

Are you going to offer all the Retro frames for sell? Please!!!

Thanks,

So can we get a full pin up of that hot big ripper yet? Also, word on the street is that they need stem locks (not hemlock) any chance that they will come with them?

I know that some of these pics are repeats etc, but nice that some more sites are offering full pics etc now.

Here is a link to the 2010 models, in fact they are showing pricing etc - figures the UK gets the goods on a US based item first:

I do see "internally threaded steer tube" and "rear cassette" in the specs of some of the bikes -sweet.

Hopefully the US pricing will be better / same.
http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/m/1_Bike...08_SE%2BRacing/

Here are some pics in case the link disappears for some mysterious reason and there are more models on the site as well but does not show the DG limited 26" in yellow or the new Big Rip color combo:

2010 24" Quad in "Gnarly Red" priced at 595bps

2010 24" Floval Flyer in "Metallic Blue" priced at 425bps

2010 26" OM Flyer in both "Yowzers Yellow" and "$100 Wrap" priced at 515bps

2010 20 PK Ripper in both "Retro Gold" and "Metal Plate Wrap" priced at 565bps

I also noticed that some British stores already had these bikes. I don't know for sure but the bikes come out after the big trade shows...Interbike is over Sept. 25th. Bikes will start showing up in North American stores after that. The European bike extravaganza has already happened. Makes sense that they would have to follow up on the excitement generated from the trade shows.

You could have gone Pink and Purple on it and I'd still want to shake your hand and buy you a beer!!!

TODD... four words... THANK YOU!!!! YOU RULE!!!!!

Couple questions, now that I'm selling lesser possessions in a mad scramble to have money up front for my Grail ride!

I want to be the first in line for this Mothership!!!

1. When can I go to my local SE dealer and plunk my cashish down for an order/pre-order??

2 When will these hit?

3. DC badge how many in the run?

4. Will there be a standard (Non DC) 26" Quad coming 2010?
a. What colors?
b. When will it hit

Dude, I seriously Effin' love your work Todd!!!

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!

That money OM is gross.

FYI to the question raised above as far as when the 2010's will be available. I myself just put a deposit down and got one of the DG 26" Quads reserved / on the waiting list for.

I have bought 3 SE's from this LBS SE Dealer in the last year so I'm confident in the fact that he is current with the timeline etc. Seems if the ship date is far out there, but in the past those dates are shortened by quite a bit once the bikes start being avail.
Capt. Nemo
It seems coloredtuffs has the 'Lil Ripper and "Ripper" bikes in stock already.

The one trend I've noticed is that the "all new" bikes tend to take a little longer to get instock.

Also the ones that have "non-traditional" color schemes.

Compare the pic of the "money" OM from eurobike to the catalog shots. NO GREEN TIRES. I hoping they remain stock, but may not have been available yet for the trade show.

Those types of delay's could mean getting all the bikes to market at the same time.
seracingman
Looks like the chain stay on the OM has the dent again! Im glad I have the 09 ! Should be able to pick up the 2010 Om for 300.00 next year at this time.
pwh4130
FYI- The bikes on display at trade shows are often samples. They are not production. Sometimes they take an old frame and put the new paint on it. They are for looking and pictures. Sometimes they are hand built-quickly. Green tires are spec for the bike.

The gold retro PK looks a million times better in eurohero's pics than it does on the SE website - I'm looking forward to seeing one in person.

I just found this one also on the SE site ! For some reason I couldn't get the pic to post.

I don't know about anyone else... but, I'm kinda jonesing for a big update!
I know Todd is, juggling fire, stretched thin, and totally slammed at the moment, especially with the zillion trade shows all happening back to back, but... it would be totally awesome to see and hear something new.
Not pointing this at anyone at all, but you'd think that with immediate deployment
of information these days that there would be more trade show coverage, leaking out all kinds of yummy stuff for us to salivate over..

I placed an order for the 26" QA yesterday after educating the shop of this particular bike, and basically forced them to call the order in with me on line ( THANK YOU AGAIN Todd!!!!! )
Now I just wanna see more about it! Specs, pics, etc.
I've been told it'll hit in January. Unfortunately, aside from the two pics Todd has leaked, nobody knows anything, and I haven't been able to crumb out anything else anywhere on the net about it. The suspense is oh so sweet!

And don't you just love the suspense?....

Thanks for checking in... I was going to send you an email via your site, but,

Would like the chance to hang, and pick your brain a little...
Super Mex and Pacifico's??
When are you going to be back in the LA/SoCal?

PS. Your Sis' is the sales rep. making my 26" QA happen. Yaay!!!

What does that mean? Jump the gun? Sorry... that comment totally lost me.

"Jump the Shark" refers to the TV show "Happy Days" where The Fonz jumped over a tank with a shark in it. It's the point where a TV show runs out of real shows and just does silly things to stay in production. Personally I think SE has a few great retros left.

Now that's funny! I totally understand, thanks!
I'm old enough, and have watched the show many times, but, I never really liked it enough to pay full attention.

I'm with you on thinking that they have some good retros left(lots in fact).
I also think that they've only just gotten started, because the possibilities are pretty limitless.
As long as they're selling good, they'll make them.

No, but it would be nice to see them support a small BMX company with a collab instead of some overpriced trendy douchewaffle skate/street clothing company.

Yep that's right I said it. smile.gif And I will keep saying it till we get some love for the smaller BMX Companies! I really do not like to see a company with such historic roots in our sport pimping DOUCHWAFFLE skate/clothing companies and not showing any love for the small BMX companies with regards to collabs. I have no interest in supporting a skate/trend company when BMX companies are having a hard go of it right now. Support your sport! The skaters hate us mostly...Why throw your pearls to swine!?!?!?!
Minx20
In my case I bought a Crooks OM from "COLOREDTUFFS" as I've had both the '08 Red and '09 Blue -the Blue '09 I regreat selling so when I saw the Crooks OM that is mostly white / silver it works for me as a blank canvas to mod it how I want color wise. Was not concerned with who C&C is just wanted a OM in a neutral color combo.

What I think would be a true Retro callab is for SE to make a tribute bike with some existing major BMX shops from back in the day that were SE dealers or maybe a Retro SE Quad/BMX Action bike? -Along those lines.

Word.... but, what exactly what did you have in mind?

Something to consider, is that these companies that you aren't so fond of, absorb a lot of the bigger costs in going through the process of making some of the bikes that would probably not see the light of day otherwise. Because they have deeper pockets.
In the end... as much as I hate to say it, it does boil down to money.

Something that I was actually poking around with for example was...
Last week, I was talking with Bart at Skyway Wheels regarding them making low runs of 26" Tuff II's for us (consumers) or partnering up with a bike project that would help facilitate
the low cost of 200+K that it would take to get Skyway into making that happen. Because they're definitely NOT going to be doing it on their own anytime soon, or it would have already happened.

NOW... here's BAIT for Todd (on many levels cuz I'm looking for "that" job ). wink.gif
I told Bart at Skyway that SE is now beginning to make 26" Quads, and that
I'm positive that there are many "collectors." and beach cruiser enthusiasts that would go Ape $h*t over sets of 26" TUFF II's, and to imagine how bad@ss a 26" Quad w/ TUFF's would look.

Todd, ya hearing me on this???

If SE and Skyway, were to do a line of Collab bikes, it would be off the hook!!!
Wacky/totally unique colors and yes, 26" TUFF's for the OM and the Quads would be part of the negotiation/deal.
So, in respect to the cost of (200K) tooling the molds for the 26" TUFF's part of the Collab price would be absorbed into the actual making of the Wheels for the 26" bikes.
THEN, Skyway could later ( after a period of exclusivity to SE for help investing in the molds ) then offer 26" TUFF wheels to the rest of it's potential consumers, because the molds were already made. Meanwhile, SE would also offer many of the bikes in the 201_ line with a "Skyway TUFF wheel II" option/upgrade on virtually every bike in the line in addition to a few exclusive limited editions with Skyway / SE
Skyway would be doing volume per run/color/bike/ this would bring the cost of the wheels to SE down a bit too.

Todd, again... you hearing me???

Imagine this one folks.... Pretty sick no??

The flip example of this is, "The Hundreds and SE making the Retro 26" P.K. Ripper."
How soon, if ever, would we have been seeing an official 26" PK offered again???

Somebody that's in the know, please correct me if I'm wrong here, but, that's how it rolls.

CJ

PS: I watched BMX Bandits last night for the first time. Despite the huge cheeze factor, I couldn't help but enjoy the sight of tons of OS BMX bikes, and then there was teenage Nicole Kidman, with that totally awesome big -n- wild hair cranking all over OZ on a BMX bike and track... WOW!

STRIKE
I'd buy a pair (if I had a 26"), but I don't think that there are even enough people WITH 26"ers to even put a dent in $200k. Sorry to be a buzzkil, but that's just my humble opinion. On the other hand, maybe I am way off and maybe people have some numbers that will make a run of these Tuffs worth the $$, I hope so.

You're not Buzzkill, but...
There really ARE a lot of 26"'ers out there, old and new.
There are also Zillions and Zillions of Beach Cruisers, old and new.
Beach Cruisers are part of the SoCal / Beach cultures so there are lots of bikes made in crazy colors and options every year... There are so many surfer / beach dudes that would want black TUFF's on their rides it's NOT even funny. OH THEY'LL SELL ALL RIGHT!!
