Full Version: Robinson Amtrac - No.2

Well I thought I was lucky when I got hold of my first Robinson Amtrac (courtesy of Zippy).

Its been my race bike since the Winter '07 race series... and I absolutely adore it.

Last summer I (along with a few others) got the sniff of a NOS F&F's that Jai Kemp sold at MK'08...
after many a PM and chat with generallee I am now the proud of owner of my SECOND Robinson Amtrac...

The Frame & Forks are 1992... so in some sections of the BMX world this is Mid-School...
but I have dressed this baby as an Old School beauty... (with the exception of the modern redlines).

Huge thanks go to: generallee and firebird (as always!!).. thanks fella's.

These are a very rare model and I have only managed to locate half a dozen examples in the WORLD. So I consider myself to be VERY lucky to own TWO!!

It wasn't until tonight that decided to check the Serial No's on these two... how close is this!!!

Have you any idea how many were made... I am struggling to find hardly any!!!

The serial numbers lead me to think that there may have only been 100....

Anyone got any info on this? anyone got a contact for Charlie Townend... he might know!!!

Congrats, both are killer. One day I'll be in the right place, at the right time, with the right amount of money to score one.

My amtrac has been taken down from the attic. I swore I would not race it again, but after this thread I feel I must

Great bikes from the golden age. Choo-Choo was plenty fast and known for being aggressive.

We got to watch him, Steve Veltman, and Wade Bootes practice at the old track beside Lowey Axles in 1995. That was as much horsepower as I ever saw at a practice session.

Congratulations on the bikes!

All the Best

I remember a race in Florida , I think it was Charlie hitting a huge pole right at the finish line. Still gives me a chill, that was one big hit.
