Well, this has been a long time coming.
I am so stoked!
several years ago, a racing family of ours went to a police auction. For the whopping price of $15 they walked away with this bike. when I first saw it, I let him know when he wants to sell it, please let me know. He hung onto it, his kids got out of BMX for other sports, then a few months ago I get the call. Ready to sell some stuff.
It is a classic survivor in my mind, all I am going to do is clean it up, get it out for a few special bike events, and enjoy it.
It goes into the stable with my Moosegoose and my side hack Mongoose. (like I said, I am old school)
Oh, my son's racing name is the Mad Dog.

enjoy the pics,
thanks for letting me share.
Scott

Just to clear it up, my friend paid $15 for it several years ago. I paid much more for it, and it was worth every penny.
Thanks, glad you all like it!

That is a lot of mid-school guys' holy grail frame...That thing is SWEET and a great survivor...I'm glad it's in someones hands that will keep it that way...Having those stickers on there is pretty rare/amazing...
What did Moeller used to run on his bike, Profiles?

I believe Moeller ran old school 401s on his MD.

Thanks for chiming in Jacob, I am not a S&M guy and don't know much about the company...I plan on building a early threadless holmes or challenger one day though....
The only change that I would make would be to put some 401's on it...

Awesome bike, and it's even cooler that you're going to actually ride it.
Scott, any chance you're the same Scott Morrow I used to ride with in Margate, Florida back in the 70's? That would be a trip.
My name is Pete Bruno, I used to ride for the Hannah family at Free Wheelin' Bikes, and then I worked and rode for Mark at Atlantic Bikes.

Ritchie Anderson gave me his plate at the Gilley's national in 85 that was exactly like that one (minus the stickers) and signed the back of it. It got stolen along with my GT race bike in 86ish, so you can imagine my thoughts as soon as I saw that pic with the autograph on the back of the plate.
i was like zomg!! until i noticed it wasnt RA's autograph.

i know im late to the party on this one. i havent been on here much lately and when i do stop in, i get mad at myself for spending so little time here.
congradulations on this score! its a beautiful bike! i really think a thread need to be started dedicated to mad dog's. there's not to many around and they were the start of an important era in bmx.

I might just bring it down there. Depends on the weather, since most of the time I don't carry bikes on the rack.
But if its nice, I will bring it.
thanks for the nice words!

I've seen quite a few pics of Chris running GT Power Series cranks on his earlier bikes. He worked at GT for a bit (I think he boxed bikes for awhile) and they made frames for a bit.

I saw Chris's Mad Dog that he keeps in his office and he has 401 flights on it. By far its the ugliest Mad Dog I have ever seen, with the one red skyway and some of the most beat down DX pedals and a bent laid back seat post, but he loves it that way.
