I.D. is 27.0 and O.D. is 1 1/8. If it is a 125R or cruiser. 27.0 should be a real tight fit with that thin walled seat tube.
Thanks Mothertrucker
the 27mm MCS i bought is super tight, bit worried about forcing it in. The 26.8 does seems perfect. You think I should stick with the MCS and maybe a little grease on it first time?
It has a matte finish so maybe that's not helping.
I got the O.D diameter wrong.. oops
many thanks

OK, i tried the 27mm again, measured with two different micrometers and ruined the new post as it got jammed in there! Ain't no way on earth my particular seat tube is 27mm. Both mic's show between 26 and 27mm. I also tried greasing the post, it won't go down any further than about 2". There is some weld on the inside of the tube, but that is not stopping the 26.8mm going down. I even sanded the post down to take the coating off, as the scratch meant I couldn't return it, but that didn't make any difference. Post is def 27mm and it's not going in.
I guess I need another 26.8mm. I assume it's not going to cause any problems. Anybody got any advice? Been after this frame for a long long time, don't want to ruin it now i've finally got one.
Cheers, Hoppy

weird. I'll take that MCS off your hands, if you'd like

it seems a lot of people ru the 26.8 w/o problems. I'd think that be fine in your case.

Yours if you want it, $20?. First couple of inches have been sanded, but that will be in side the seat tube. Are you going to Morristown or any of your riding buddies going and I can give it to them.

Please return it ( if you are willing) and I'll have a look at it immediately. It may need to be re reamed or something. Too hard to tell by e-mail. We want your frame to be dialed. No other way. PLease include any post(s) you have tried if you can.

Once again it is up in talk to have a big BMX weekend up here in the Quadcities (STANDARD BYKE CO) OPEN HOUSE. 10 Min from Standard is the East Moline BMX speedway that will be holding a big race around July 17th. Id like to team up with Rick from SBC & Paul from the BMX racing zone and also the same gent who runs the speedway and have a big blowout bmx bash.
Big race up at the speedway.
Huge concrete Skatepark 5 min from SBC
Tours through SBC
Maybe some bands, giveaways, Just a big weekend of FUN!!
This is just talk, but who is up for some traveling?
Hotels and everything cheap up in this area!

Pure BMX crazyness FOR SURE. id like to try to get a few pro's down this way, to show kids on what to learn and how to ride. That would be cool and fun.... if I start this now, I can make it happen, I hope!!!
Plus on top of this we have 2 kick ass bike shops in town. Maybe I can get them to run weekend specials?

something that would be cool - have the team trailer and team members available to show off the race rides, answer questions, and sign autographs.
If you have the all Standard bike show in the factory parking lot, I would suggest having it in the evening hours so the racers can display their rides also.

Hi Rick
Thanks for the reply. I got a 26.8 which fits fine once dropped in several inches but does have a little play at the top, and the crupi 26.8 is a perfect fit all round. Still can't get a 27mm in though. It appears that weld has built up inside the seat tube from the top tube join, not splatter, but a faint ridge and I think this is maybe whats stopping the 27mm drop down as it seems to get to about the top tube mark and then stops. There is a little play on the 26.8, but I guess when it's dropped when riding it will make no difference, but I dont want to flare the seat tube when I have the post up high.
Do you think it's worth returning or safe to ride?
I guess part of me wants to build it as I am so excited, but I don't want to ruin the frame either.
Either way, thanks for all the input and advice on here from your guys and the Standard Army, nice to know customer service is not a dieing art..

Cruisin - My kid went nuts - absolutely loves green.....
It is going to be pretty sick... Once Rick and crew get it and get it checked out and refinished... i will already have had a chance to finish the part collection.... trading a bunch of parts out...getting new ones.. of course a few will stay... New ones will include custom tagged Black (Gold Lettering) Alienation Runaway Rims with Profile hubs..black spokes, gold nips... Once I get the frame back from SBC newly coated shinny white, I will custom tag the frame with a special Gold Vinyl that I have been saving for just an occasion this stuff was $45 for 3 feet...that'll show you just how sick it is... I will treat with a special coating before application to keep it from getting nicked.. As much as I want to go back to chromo forks...I gotta keep the Answers forks... May have to put on a new stem though....Profile front load would be a good choice...
Right now the frame is an ABSOLUTELY HIDEOUS gray color...with nick all over the place... but I don't see any other defects.....
I am excited about getting it done.....

Frame on it's way today or tomorrow, been a busy week and not had a chance to get to post office. Included seat post too. You can see ridge inside tube when you get, it's just enough to take a mm or two off diameter stoping the post going down.
