Not to sound like a broken record, but like I said yesterday, been out of the sport for 20 years now and started to get back into it a few months back playing around on my old cruiser from back then, but that bike has seen many days and it didn't take long to realize it "was" a good bike and needed something updated with the modern parts and such. The reason Standard was picked I wanted the best molly bike possible, the new aluminum frames just did not seem appealing to me for some reason (I know the material and technology have changed, but to many Race-Inc weld jobs went through my head), wanted a strong bike that could go on trails and jumps, yet could go to the track as well (an all around bike). I posed the question about the best bike for my needs to an old racing friend from bitd who still rides and races at times and he said Standard without a pause, after exploring the website it looked like my kind of company, building quality products, takes pride in its products, but at the same time likes to have fun (yes got that from the website). Did not find this thread till after the order was placed, but man you guys have a great following and know for certain I made the correct choice. So one checkmark for "word of mouth".

My 20" order will be due to "great customer service"....
You guys have provided great customer services answering all the question I have had and always available, could not ask for anything more, truly a pleasure deal with a company that is like this, keep up the great job… Oh maybe a free tee-shirt with every order would be better (always trying to get free shirts)
Now get off the internet and go get started on that flat black cruiser with a 22"tt and white decals for a customer named Bauder…….

I'll go. I'm not quite sure how many hours of effort Nick, Jess and Rick have spent listening to me mull over geometries, finishes, gussets and the like, but I do know that it's 100 percent more attention than I would have received from most other frame manufacturers. They have been very communicative and supportive every step of the way, even after I sent them the required frogskins (another industry anomaly, I should think).
In terms of quality/price, I am completely blown away by the product Standard is putting out there. Having just received my 20" 125r last week, I spent some time looking over all of the welds, and while I'm not a metallurgist, I can tell you that this thing was practically perfect with smooth, complete, even welds all around. My previous US-based, hand-made chromo frame from another vendor, which cost over 500 bucks, was actually missing welds in two spots. Crazy. Anyway, with Standard, I was able to get a frame, fork and bar combo, all with matching finishes and with a number of custom options for 45 dollars more than what I spent on that one, poorly welded frame.
Here's a sneak peak at some of the welding goodness:

Customer service and quality/price aside, you know, I'd still ride a Standard for one simple reason: their frames ride like a dream. After getting back into racing last year, I tried a number of modern cruisers (two aluminum and one steel), and for different reasons (sizing, material, whatever), they felt foreign to me, not at all like my body told me they should feel (harkening back to racing in the 80s on a GT and GJS). Then I picked up a cheap 1999 125r cruiser on eBay to set up as a play bike. But after riding it once (literally, once around the block), I knew I needed to dump my current race rig and switch to this oldie mid season. I don't know how else to describe it other than the bike just felt right. Even though the chainstay is a bent a bit, I freaking love that thing. Hopefully, my new 20 will feel similar. I can't wait to try it out.
Cheers,
b.

Its hard to know where to start, the quality of the parts that comes out of sbc are second to none.
i have never ever had one single problem with anything and its like a breath of fresh air..
why buy a shirt off the rack when you can get a Taylor made one at the same cost..
why buy an inferior product and waist your hard earned $ when you can cut out all the rest and buy the best...simple really.
nicks been a bloody legend for me helping with anything i need and hard working chap thats got alot of thanks to be owed.
the sbc squad rick, jesse and all the guys who put in long long hours to keep us happy...
i havent ever meet one of them in person but feel like distant family,if i lived anywhere near them i would have to be part of the team some how or way...my door over here is open to them as if it was a second home ,i give them that much respect...

Thank you. We still have more to go as well.
The head angle is 72. We have had great luck with that. The seat angle is 70.5. I'll make sure the site is correct. We crammed a lot in all at once. If you like a different head angle that is something we can do custom. Fairly easy as well.
