the etched headtubes are extremely cool - really digging the black yellow and white paint - and is standard making v bars now.
all my standards are a few years old but all in excellent condition and wouldn't trade them for the world, well except for a new standard.
nick any more news on the standard bash?
I know I said it awhile back but I need to get some new pics of my standards just been busy.

I'll take it! Same price as the others, right?

My cruiser frame is a little too small for me.. I've been looking for a deal on a longer frame.. maybe I should move up to a 26?

Great thread, keep the images coming. I think tit's important for people to realize what it's like inside companies that maintain a "Made in the USA" ethic.

Awesome thread.... So cool to see behind the scenes....we are definately going to have to stop in for a visit next time we are nearby.
And Larry...good choice on the new frame. Before sponsorships came into play, I always swore I would never ride another frame. You will love it for sure!

Making a 1" threaded custom steer tube for a vintage inspired customer. This will have Boss style dropouts.

Trailboss with modified STA gusset. We will be making Trailboss specific gusset's so the shape will change a little.

This is the welded in gusset (one each side of frame) for a customer bike. SBC stencil DG type gusset

I finally had a few minutes to take some updated pics of my two racers. Nothing fancy here but neither have ever let me down.
Heres the 20 -

and the 24

and one of the two together. Both are built with identical parts except for the pedals and new wellgos are coming soon for the big bike.

heres a pic of my sons all purpose hotrod cool mix of old, mid, new school with a little 50's flavor

and my street bike with all the scratches and scars

125r with 990 mounted brakes
the only one left is my practice/spare race bike (which is still being built) and will be identical to my racer but will be sporting an all flat black look.
That my friends is my Standard Army

As MR Moliterno promised a few posts agoin another thread, SBC would build one on monday. This is a all modern version. Bigger tubes, integrated head set, Mid BB, it will also be a double diamond rear end with no platform as for Rick says they were phased out for a reason. He will be making a loop tail racer also, but the new version is for the high performance rider in mind, and the reason for this build as to keep his promise and to see what he could end up with.
More of the ( collectors) seem to like to have the originality, but to a die hard rider to get out and thrash there bike, it needs to be updated. But he will also be making a old school one also, just to show what can be done, which anything can be done. This was Just a quick one day mockup, so it is not 100%, if he builds another it will be more refined and 110%, but this will be rode and thrashed by Rick himself on the skate park, maybe in a release of RAD? hahahaha.
Thought you might all enjoy what went on at SBC today, Just some fooling around with mixing old school with new! Weight should be right at 4LBS or under!
THIS POST HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HUTCH BRAND OR NAME OR SBC BUILDING HUTCH BIKES. JUST FOR FUN!
Thank you and enjoy

So we are building a special bike for a buddy UK Danny. Trick star (inspired front end) with a STA rear end, calling it the RICKstaR. So far it has been popular and also have a few request's for a few, and the picture is up right above of the head tube. And YES to answer a few PM's, we can also do a looptail with the best of them.
SO What do you all think?
We are also Building PROJECT X for a buddy, another vintage inspired updated racer of the 80's which (per cust request) I can not show you pictures or tell you about it, but it will be a very unique and super kick a$$ bike. Look for it at rockford next year or unless he lets us Post pictures !!!
Thank you for all who support SBC and for all the kind words of these behind the walls thread. We like riders to see where there HAND MADE IN THE USA project is coming from.
Nothing to hide, Just a die hard product for the die hard rider. And thank you Vintage for letting us be a part of this website, truly the best. And Mike, we didnt forget about you, we are talking about special project Just for VINTAGEBMX here real soon.
