No steroids, but Norco can take some credit. At least for getting me off the sore wagon I was on last night.

ha ha ha... I love you too Nick.
That kid with the Gold bike was at Rockford Sunday. That thing is surely blingin. Looks like he swiped it off Master P's bike rack.
So how did it go Nick? How did it feel to actually ride the bike on a track? Damn good I'll bet.

there is more I still have to post but they will be on my face book later tonight.... all i have to say is Nick is not dead but I think he almost killed himself.... its called smoking and he needs to quit... ha ha .... that gold bike was not the only cool one there it just stood out the most I do know that it is a standard.... and i also know that the kid passed nick on one of the laps he did ha ....

Those pics are great. I love 'em and all I have to say in our defense is we killed it! Ha!
Oh and BTW that wasn't my game face, that was my cry for help!
I also have to say "Thanks to Nick" for bringing me a new gear so I'm not dying by the third straight and also to Nick's lovely wife for taking pics and showing the world our pain. Believe me the gear I was running had no place on my bike under my weak arse. Snapping out the gate looked more like "let's just roll down the hill and hope I keep up." First straight, great, once I got going I could could catch/ stay with the pack. Second straight was able to get half way through it just fine with my speed. Third straight, my legs said what the hell kinda gear do you think your running. 4th Straight I was so tired I was Grand Master Squirrel himself. I was just happy to cross the finish line without going down like Frasier.
Although we all went home with no broken bones, I did learn I have lost enough weight during the winter that my helmet does not fit anymore, I'm swimming in my jersey, and the jeans I wore last year are a tad bit more roomy.. So I put a new helmet on order (THE Celtic-Large).
I can't wait for Thursday!!!

Yes. it felt good. Smoking too is a big part in not having alot of indurance. my last lap of the night, i learned to pump the track and had my best lap. I need to learn the gate the most. I was doing it the ol fashioned way. All in all it was a fun night, My buddy greg franks ( brown/raw 125R) was rocking, Lee was doing good.
My wife got like 300 rocking track pics..and i will have her post some in the local race thread under east moline.

Yeah, I am slowly kicking the cigarette habit too Nick. It's a pain in the butt, but even cutting back on smoking has helped me big time so I can't imagine what it's gonna be like if I can kick it completely.
Another thing to keep in mind, you'll be a lot faster when you're actually racing. Adrenaline will play a huge factor and you'll push yourself harder then you ever thought you could.
As far as the gate goes. One trick I know has helped tons of beginners is to keep a lot of pressure on your front foot while balancing. It makes balancing a whole lot easier. Once you get it down you'll ease up on that front foot a bit. You'll get it after a while and you'll be snapping like a pro.

Just remember, most races are won by whoever can make it to that first turn... first. Work on those gates and go. When you're up there pick a spot in that first turn, when the gate falls go for it as hard as you can.

Well I must be the exception 'cuase I got the first straight thing good to go. But by the time I hit the second turn everyone else is already almost all the way through to the 3rd. So i'm thinking i'm just waiting for the skills to re-emerge and practice more on the 2nd half of the track. Either that or my oversized helmet that kept falling over my eyes on the first step up played a small role in me not trying as hard after the first straight. OR my gearing was all wrong and my legs were done after 2 straights. If 1 of those ain't the reason, I ain't got nothin'.
I couldn't really notice what Nick was doing wrong cuz I introduced him to the back of my jersey.
But Nick you did good, we'll do it all over again Thursday. And turn it up a little instead of just feeling things out.
I put the new gear on my cruiser last night when I got home, took a link of chain out and slammed my back tire. It's on like Donkey Kong!
Forks for my 20" will be here friday! Put together Friday night.

That was a low blow, Nick. BTW that's the new JAD frame for those of us who don't know. But for those of us who do, Jeff Holtz took 1st in Sunday's Main down in Tampa Bay at teh Gator Nationals.
He also didn't pay a dime for that RIDE or the other 2 he has, nor did he pay for the trip to Florida. Sounds like a good deal to me...

We like to call him Mr. Factory. LOL

But every once in a while they are and we'll rub each others Ribs. LOL
I rode that gear yesterday, took a couple links out of chain, and slammed my back tire and I must say, I FREAKING LOVE IT! I'm putting the ponies down tonight. And I mean the very small Miniature one's.
I wasn't endorsing JAD or anything, I'm just commenting on the fact that a East Moline rider went to FLORIDA where they ride year around (ALMOST)and KILLED IT!
