JR Has them, they are like 60 bucks. Worth every penny if you ask me.
Profile external bearing bottom bracket
snap 4 bolt spider
rennen or snap 4 bolt chain ring
flight cranks
Now that would be a sick mix of old school/new school...

Jan 16 2010, 05:08 PM
So I was talking with Rick today about all the OLD frames he has laying around, from pro riders, warranty, testing, exc.. Maybe looking at around 150 frames. Depending on what they are, we may start to sell them from $25-up each! Thats right $25-up each.....
But......
The catch is. For that price what we are doing is selling you the frame, and then we charge you to referb it. Lets say one has a Messed up dropout. The frame cost $25.00. Cost $60ish to replace the dropout, and then $ to powder it. You could have $125.00ish in a LIKE NEW redone old frame.
(Sorry not just going to sell a frame for $25.00 outright, deal is to referb them)
We have Mini's, 100R's, and all the way up to the bigger bikes. This will get a bunch of old collectable SBC's out and rocking again, and help people who want a SBC, but cant spend the $ for new.
We will be making a list up as we go and post it here..... SO PLEASE WAIT TO ASK WHAT WE HAVE UNTIL WE POST A LIST. You maybe suprised what we dig out of the vault.
But if this is something it seems like you may want to get in on, post your feedback. What I will do is make a list of what we have with prices, what is wrong with it, and so on. Then you can pick what you want, we will quote to your wants and go from there...
So if this sounds good, Give me a YES and lets see what we can get rolling. ALOT OF HISTORY that can be on the tracks again..
Thanks
Nick

You're gonna love those dR brakes. I had them on my Clayborn until I swapped them for DXR's. I honestly though the dR brakes were twice the brakes that the DXR's are. I just wish the dR's came in a color other then white. Awesome brakes regardless. Did you get the Carbon or Magnesium lever?

Ditto that. I'm the happy owner of Brandon's DRs at this very moment. They look space age on my 125r. Mmmmmm.
BTW Rob, that frame is going to make for a sweet machine for sure. Hopefully, you'll be able to rub out all of the touchy-feely fingerprints from gawkers/admirers with some turtle wax.

BTW BTW, Rob, you had a white UFO cruiser late 2008, didn't you? I think that's what you had when you and I met down at Falcon in CT. (or maybe I've gone nutty...very possible.) I was the dorky noob on the gold Redline cruiser.
Oh and Nick, I say hell yes! post that list. Good frames need good homes. Call it "Standard Rescue."
Cheers,

Brad, that UFO is actually a "Simple" made frame...when I ordered it there was a mix up... I ended up with a prototype frame... Pro XL front end welded to a expert (literally) rear triangle... I have DR brakes on my Cruiser... and I am getting the carbon lever...again with this set... I love them... I remember you now....how'd you do last season...??

Yeah, I remember you had 1.5s on that puppy to make clearance on the back end. That was a sweet bike. Obviously you're partial to white frames, eh? I'm drawn to black for some reason [insert darth vadar breathing noises...].
I had a total blast last season. I missed most of summer with an L5S1 problemo, but managed about 13 races and landed in the #4 slot in ABA MA01. Once that goes final, you know I'll be hitting you up for something special to commemorate things. I know it's nothing big, but for a guy who wasn't sure he could even make it all the way around a track after a 26 year lay-off, I'm really proud of how things went in 09.
Funny Standard story in there, btw. While hurt last summer, I played around with a used Standard 125r cruiser (eBay find), thinking it would be something I built up for trashing around the neighborhood. After about 5 minutes on the pedals, though, I decided to sell my chromo Staats and make the Standard my race rig. I only got in 3 races on the Standard at the end of the year, but that old black beauty responded with a 3-0 win record. Cobra Power!

on a more serious note, loving how the standard looks so far. I'm gonna post a pic of the pile of parts that I have on my floor in the basement sometime tomorrow once I get everything all cleaned up. Then I'm gonna post teaser pics the entire time I'm building my bike (which will probably last about an hour since I'll be so excited it will get whipped together super fast)...

gee I step away from the puter for a couple days to go racing and come back to a couple of army bros singing love songs to each other.

A really cool Save a Standard program. Another cool pinup plate (even thou its not a Standard plate.
Well the Tribar got some real hard looks at both the frame and the color, I got lots of questions and kool comments. I have to say that it got broke in right. I took the hardest crash I've had in a long time, everything survived coming out with just a few scratches. Everything except the back wheel I dont think I'm going to be able to save it this time, pics will follow in the next day or so when Mike gets the bugs out of the pic hosting site.
Rob I will be sending some girls your way for a couple more plates. Idont see an issue with the pinup girl plates as long as they are kept clean. I got several comments on mine along with the matching seat stickers.

I went to Goodtimes Saturday. And if you guys are wanting Hoodies you'd better hurry they are limited in sizes and almost out of them, unless Jess and Rick are going to do another run (HINT HINT, 3XL Pullover Please!!!). I also wanted a Beenie but they were out of those but should be seeing some this week sometime. So I'll head that way again next week. I hit 2 bike shops on Saturday and only spent $47.00. Pheeew!
Why 3XL because I usually like wearing a shirt underneath and no coat. Plus I have a massive chest (and stomach after I eat). LOL
