I have one of these on my bike and love it. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way of anything, it's still padded and it looks damn cool.
...

Is what I have on the 20", with matching S&M grips. Fav pic of my build up:

You should consider the alienation 27.0 pivotal post and the S&M plastic pivotal seat

Oh wait, they're railed seats and use a p-rail adaptor.. which I guess you could get and use for any seat. NM. I'm still hitting "Add Reply" WGaFF!
And, I got mine from Good Times (about a year ago

Brandon - I cut the Kalloy post at the minimum height indicator and mounted the post backwards. This allows the seat to be angled more. Here's the pic

I was thinking about doing that too, but found if you take the top part off and grind out the groove where the bolt goes you can actually angle it back with the post on facing the right direction. I took care of it last night and think I'm golden there. I think I was just giving myself an excuse to buy a pivotal, now that I think of it there's really no point. The K-Alloy will work fine for now and it was only 13 bucks.
I have to stop ordering parts for this build anyway. I have a pile of new parts sitting here while I wait for the frame.
FBM Anodized gold integrated headset
Union anodized gold seatclamp
odyssey linear slic cable
DXR brakes
Fly Bikes Fino seat
Kalloy seatpost
and a few other goodies.
Now I just need the frame to put them all on. I'm about to start disassembling the Clayborn to get all the parts ready. I just don't know when I will see my frame. I was told it could take two weeks. It's gonna be a LOOOOONG two weeks.

Well I guess I'm gonna run the k-alloy until the time comes to buy a new post. Thanks for that bit of info Nick, not that I'm gonna need to use the warranty on a bulletproof frame anyway.

hey rick m...
what about shims, i know you don't recommend them, but how "bad" is it to run one in your seattube?
It can be real bad depending on many variables. If you want to risk a worst case scenario of a broken seat tube then that is your choice. You can run what you want but shimming is patchwork at best. Why short cut? We make these seat tubes super thin and butted to save the weight desired for racing. I realize the 27.0 size has less choices available than some other sizes. It wasn't always this way. Plus this let's us keep the common 1 1/8" seat post clamp diameter. This thin wall makes it critical that the seat post/ seat tube fit is very tight. This tightness keeps play, and vibration out as well as handling the impact the seat stays send to the seat tube from landings. That tight fit of the post keeps the seat tube from flexing in on those impacts. Please let me know if you want more information. That is what I am here for!

why don't you just switch to a more common diameter, then? something like 25.4 or 27.2mm, for example. that's something i wondered about for years and i'm not asking this to make trouble. i'm asking because i'm thinking about getting a custom 125rc frame made.

This is something I honestly wrestle with on a regular basis. This current seat tube is so perfect for it's use...except for the lack of available seat posts out there these days that fit it. We have a sweet butted seat tube we use on the freestyle frames that works with 25.4 posts. It is heavier by quite a lot than the one we use on the 125 series. So we can either use that butted tube that runs the 25.4 (heavier), we can keep the current version (lack of seat post variety but light weight and uses regular common seat post clamps), or we could use a common 27.2 compatible seat tube (weighs a little more than the 27.0, takes a little bigger, more common post, but uncommon in BMX seat post clamp). These are some of the things I weigh on a regular basis is regards to this seemingly simple situation.
OK...here are the 27.0 posts I know of that are available: MCS, Ritchey, Kalloy, Alienation (Pivital style), Thompson...and I believe one other but my brain just froze this Saturday morning! More coffee needed!
I hope this helps a little.

How about light weight tubing, that fits commonly available seat posts, with a built in clamp?

Then in comments used the wording "raffle". thats how they caught it. so then they closed my account and now to even use it for personal reasons at all, i must fill out tax forms for raffles and all the other BS, non-profit, exc.... So now i know longer have paypal. They just want more $. Funny how companies handed me thousands of $ in goods and didnt need any paperwork for my program!!!
Luckly everyone who sent me paypal it either, it got cashed and sent to me, otherwise i did have to refund about 4 buyers $ back they wouldnt let me cash in..
SO ..
$ HAS TO BE SENT TO
