I've looked around and couldn't find a chrome plated pivotal seat post. I know, I know, the kids don't dig on chrome these days or so we're told. But for the love of god, someone please make one! With all the hi-tech manufacturing out there, nobody can chrome a seatpost? How about die casting the pivot and using some super duper adhesive like TREK uses on their lugged frames and glue a chromed tube onto it.

I don't want one of those "stubby" ones either. I can cut my own post down thank you.

It's hard enough to find a regular chrome post, let alone a pivotal.

What size chrome posts do you guys need made? if i could get a bunch of people wanting the same chrome post, might be able to have a batch made at a good price.

A 1" with similar dimensions to the old GT laybacks. I'll take mine in black.

I'd like maybe four in 25.4mm (1") straight. At least 250mm long. Like I said, I prefer to cut my own. NO lazer etching unless it's below the min height marker. Pad printed graphics are ok. Clean and simple please. Glossy smooth chrome texture on at least the tube if not the entire post, not the rough or machined look like almost every other pivotal post out there.

If Moliterno autographs the first one for me, I'm down for a half dozen....

The official reason you wont find one is simply because they are all made of aluminum. Same reason you dont find chromed aluminum frames or other parts. This isnt to say that aluminum parts are never chromed. There are people out there who do foolish things. Chrome + aluminum = flakey chrome mess in a matter of time.

The old school chrome seat posts were steel not aluminum.

That is the exact reason why I'm suggesting die casting the pivot and pressing/gluing it to a chrome plated chromoly tube.

I polished mine. It is an Alienation that was black anodized. I stripped the anno with oven cleaner, and wet sanded it length-wise and width-wise with 1000, 1500, and then 2000 grit, followed by Mothers. It maybe took an hour. It turned out great an IMO is the next best thing to chrome plated.

I found a chrome plated cro-mo micro-adjust on ebay. Might try searching for a pivotal, you could get lucky.

Sigh... Yes, I was going to pull the trigger on one a while ago. Now, I can't find em. Wouldn't it be cool to have real chrome though?

BTW Chevron, missed you at Rockford this year. Hope you can make it again!

Thanks Gary, I wish I could have gone but I have too many things going on.

Any chance you're going to Brian P's Summerslam in a few weeks?
