Al the owner gives me a call and tells me some guy bought in a nomura, with cook bro's bars. Before I go any further his" race bike" is an S&M ltf, araya whells bullseye hubs, bombshell forks. He does not like the ltf. He wants to race the nomura. But he wants to put the bombshell's on. Oh I forgot the LTF has flights with hutch pedals. Now this is where I am confused, the frame has a 14mm size dropout???????? They have not been butcherd. I know they came with washers, but I am lost on this
serial # nrdg 254
If soeone can give info thank you. I have pics but they are crappy. going back tuesday with my camera.

Trying to load the pics. btw I have no financial intrest in this bike. And maybe I am a "undercover collector" But that is you guys fault.

I ride what I build. But I would never commit sacrilege and put threadless forks on a bike like this, It has the OG stickers on it for god's sake

Talk him into some Landing Gears. Do not let him put threadless on there. It would be wrong and it would make a lot us us, including the baby Jesus, cry. OK, maybe not cry, but say "Why?" The we can ridicule this man on internet forums.
As far as the Bullseye's with 14mm dropouts, he's using an adapter of some sort. Not that hard to find if you look, or this guy had the cash to have them made. I assume you mean the LTF. If you mean the Normura has 14mm's, then I am perplexed or they were cleverly machined out

Was wrong about dropouts being 14mm. But A normal 3/8 axle is to small, Oh I got pics of the cook bros bars. and the s&m is his current ride.

Bottemas. Landing Gear would work also, but Bottemas are the preferred weapon of choice on Nomuras. I sold mine, then bought it back only to sell it again. The NRDG stands for Nomura Racing and the welders name which I think is Dave Gilkerson? The number is the sequential frame built in this case aluminum 20". Super rare frame and should be cherished. Looks to be unrepaired and in og condition. Maybe even og stickers. Very nice.

Took you long enough to chime in

I am not a collector like you chris, but when all called me sunday I was too tired to go. I see this bike and say damn
BOMBSHELL FORKS ARE SACRILEGE on this bike. I told Al to give him my info. And if you are in the neighborhood feel free to stop by and ask him too see it, Even though you ride for "that team" I am sure he would welcome you.

Just tell em you are a friend of mine. I do not want to see this butchred .

Holy Jesus. A blue anno Nomura.
The dropouts on that frame have DEFINATELY been ground open to 14mm. Complete shame but still fixable. Does this cat have any idea how rare and valuable this frame is??

Well after looking closely at the dropout pics, maybe not, but remember that the alloy frame spacers took up room too.

I think it is cool but if I was just trying to save some bucks I would have sold the old equipment and build up a top notch new school racer...

Oh man no disrespect to you bro But It is his bike. Only reason I am bumping this is because He came to the track. We had practice today, and as soon as I saw it I said "he is here!!!!!" Turns out he is a very cool guy, I did a little interview- waiting for the vid to download.

Your right it is his bike and he can do what he wants,it just hurts to see somone take a frame like that which seems to be in great shape and sodimize it the way he did. To each his own I guess. Glad he's riding on the track.

Not sure if people paid attention but THE FRAME WAS NOT TOUCHED, The cups were machined to fit. So it can be converted to original form.
