Oh an Illegal Alien? In the US we don't refer to people as laborers and we do not have a multi cast system. We DO have an immigration emergency, however, corrupt politicians who like it this way, spineless people bent on not offending anyone and worthless people bent on being offended.
Call them what they are so you don't offend people who actually count.
I hope you get the bike.

Nice clean bike, but I'm not sure you know what "NOS" means, or "mint" for that matter.

"mint" is the most abused term in collector-land.
"NOS" is not far behind.

You have to respect a man who says it as he means it and calls it as he sees it.

That's an interesting tire/chain/decal color/decal placement combination for a NOS bike... unless I don't understand what NOS means in this instance...

Most appoligies L.W and to anyone else. I should have been more detailed. There are thirty-seven "hands" working on our winery this summer. The same guys that have worked there for fifteen years or more. They move from Cali to Oregan to South America to harvest wine, and are true masters,Great cooks and love what they do. They move from harvest to harvest .Their second-third generation Americans THEY CALL THEMSELVES MIGRANT WORKERS! These dudes have worked for my family as long as i can remember. I've even busted my ass with them in Texas heat trimming vines. My girl of ten years is from Brazil and is the chemist & Asst. Winemaker. She also signs the checks. Their tittle is "Laborer" because of contract-NOT FULL-TIME.....Hey, I'm a hippie raised by hippie parents. I'm sencerly sorry my thoughts were not stated clearly. it sounds our views are quite the same-ONE PLANET ONE PEOPLE.........The bike is a Scorpion

haha I wish I could say i was being sarcastic now but zing! I missed the chain and the decal location. The tires were obviously replaced, he even stated they were, but the rest i missed. Youll have to forgive me on that one tho. I started riding mongooses late in the game when the decal on the downtube was like that, as were every other bike by then. It looks "normal" to me.
still a clean ass bike. (I never called it mint RCain)

1981 Mongoose. That's the correct decal placement.

Randy, were they still using the gold reflective in 1981 or had they switched to the prism background yet? Also, how can you tell it's a 1981? I'm not yankin' your chain here, I am just seeking deeper knowledge of the 'Goose...

That is a nice specimen. I was also interested in the fact that the seller listed new Mongoose race bikes:
http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Produ...1b-000423bb4e79I didn't know Mongoose currently makes race bikes. I have never seen one around. It's ironic that a Mongoose race bike will be considered different or obsure when it was one the most common bikes around.

regarding the color of the decals I'm not positive, but the '81's did have the main frame decal on the down tube.

haha oops. missed that. You have to admit that thing is pretty damn minty. The gooseneck looks a little pitted but other than that it looks pristine.
Didnt those decoster style forks only come on the non supergoose frames in 81, also?
