Long story short.... I've had my husbands old GT restored as a surprise for him
& have organised a Surprise Old School BBQ this weekend to present it back to him (all his old riding buddies from the 1970 & 1980 are coming along, some of them he has not seen
since the 80's!!!) unsure.gif

Anyway, I'm also doing a plaque which has some old photo's & the new photo's of
the restored bike along with info on the bike, model, serial number, colour, year, etc.

However, I don't know what colour the bike is (yes its blue, but I'm sure the paint used has a name & the model of the bike (Think the model is Team Modz???)

Can anyone help me out with this info ?

Here is a pic - restored.

WOW!!!!... This is really Sweet... I honestly believe your hubby will be brought down in tears of happiness after something like this.... You did GREAT!!!

It is a 1987 Pro Performer; I'm not 100% certain, but we used to call it Team Blue back in the day.

Best of luck!!!!

Kittengirl
Hey is that Josh White ?? - umm I know they rode together for a while, can't quite read the text of the advert.

Thanks juanrmattos.... info much appreciated. smile.gif -

it could be either a pro performer or a pro freestyle tour but definitely not a team model the way it is set up. YOu would need gt power series 3 piece cranks for that along with a few other bits. Nice bike either way.
Kittengirl
I remember Hubby saying that the 3 piece cranks would always snap, so he had these on, I have a feeling the way the bike was originally set up was bits from other bikes & I think the brake lever thing was customised to.

Here is a pic of the old girl before I sent it off. It took about a year to get it back together, we did'nt get the exact stuff we wanted, but can always keep searching for it and replace it later.
I had alot of help from one of his friends, would never have been able to do it without his help.

Thanks for your input Jimmied.

Wow, this is really excellent of you. I hope you understand -- and more importantly, he understands - just how awesome it was of you to undertake this project.

The day was perfect, Steve said it was like being a kid again.

Here is a group shot with almost everyone in it. I'm sure some of the Aussies on the forum will
recognise these guys smile.gif (and I just have to add, that is a sticky plaster on Steve's face, he had a skin cancer cut out & stitches.)

How very, very cool. biggrin.gif

the color was just called "blue" nothing fancy. if it came with a three peice crank it was most likely a "team model" when bought new. the cranks are what make it a "team model" or not.
Kittengirl
I know it had the 3 piece cranks when it was given to him in 87, biggrin.gif

General consensus in this thread & on the 'day' we gave the bike back say it's a Team Model....... We did however, restore the bike to how hubby had it 'set up' to ride back then.

Thanks for your input DemonGT, much appreciated.

And thanks to everyone else for helping out... Hubby is still very pleased with himself, it was such a perfect fun day for him. LOL,

I am not sure if anyone caught what she was asking too.....but the scratchy style lettering that made her think it was called, "Team Modz", is "Team Model".

I think she may have figured that out though.... smile.gif
