Third on the Phil Wood green tube stuff. Its water proof.

Funny story though. I saw some Phill Wood green tube grease on E-Bay with the title " Old School, vintage, NOS " and it went for a good bit of money. Much more than a brand new tube currenty on sale at a bike shop. dry.gif

In an act of desperation I actually used crisco on a heAdset once. It worked ok for a few days until I was able to get my hands on some real grease. Grease is grease.

grease is not grease..there are many diffrent formulas for diffrent applications..synthetic non syn...etc..one killer grease i found for bikes is phillips66 pink heavy duty waterproof lithium...killer stuff..its a very bright pink looks like cake iceing...my buddys dad used it on the chass of his dump truck bitd...the problem is its a industrial product so it only comes in 5 gal buckets...
Bosanova Bill
White lithium all around good stuff.

I used to use the same stuff growing up!

I've been pulling gobs of Castrol bearing grease out of the same tub for over 20 years lol...its older than some of my bikes.

I recently bought some Phils and Finish Line wax lube when I built my Quad...never again will I use the old Castrol on my bikes. used the Finish Line on my brakes, cables, and chain, and the Phils on everything else. used it when pressing in all the cups, and on just about every nut and bolt before instalation to prevent cold welding of parts...Good Stuff !!

I use Amsoil synthetic grease on everything. I even open up the sealed bearings clean and regrease with Amsoil synthetic grease. For chains I use Finish Line. Amsoil works great for Freecoaster hubs.

That's what I use.. turquoise/green color in a tub that will last you for the rest of your life, and it works rad on everything from bearings to the inside of brake cables.
