don't know if this has been asked before but besides motomags and tuff wheels, what other mag wheels were made. i recall webco, acs...what were some others? yesterday i picked up a set of "mag lites". don't know anything about them but they looked like they'd work on my cali so i could rip around town.

I have a set of Mag-lites also, seem to be pretty durable but I haven't put them (or myself) to the test. I also bought a set of Troxels which are also Tuff knock-offs. I think these were Dept. Store Quality but I'm not sure. Anyone else?

My first mags were a set of Lesters on department store Open Road.

I have a set of mag-lites that i use just to roll projects around on. I had them on one of my bikes and was out riding with my two sons in town. I went road racing around this corner and the wheel flexed (or something I'm not sure what happened all so fast) and the tire came off the bead. The next thing I know I was OTB and laying in the street.
MadCowboy I have a set just like that in yellow (use to be)
I would like to find a decent set of Webcos so I could finish my Stingray project.

Mike, there were MX-60's which had 6 spokes and came stock on Super Strokers. They were made by E. Dale Enterprises and a lot of kids down here in south Florida called them flower mags or daisy mags.
There were Morris Mags which had 7 spokes and looked like Harley Davidson wheels.
There were Dan Gurney's Eagle Mags, which had 5 spokes. They looked like a Motomag with the little webs cut out.
And I don't know if you would count them as mags or not, but there were the Trueline Pedal Proof spun aluminum wheels, and later the Laguna copies, which looked like Centerlines.

here's the safelite mag-lites on my cali. i kinda like the way they look. pete, i started in '79 so those are a little before my time although there were probably a few sets still around at that time. then tuffs kinda took over.

Well ya certainly cant forget about the greatest mags ever - the mid 80s graphite tuffs with the sealed campy hubs. There's a reason them suckers bring 1500+ on the bay. I kick myself in the shin every time I think about me trading mine for a GT f&f bitd.

Iverson mags were from the late 60's and preceeded everything out their! They look just like the webco mags but were made of a steel alloy rather then magnsium.

I believe the Iverson mags came out in 68 and I think the Webco was made off the molds of the Iverson mag, the only diference I can see between my Iversons and my Webcos are the Iversons have small holes around the hub on the front mag and they don't say Webco. The Iverson mags are aluminum though.
This is the only photo that I have of my Iversons, if I can get to them I will get a few better photos.

Hey KenC, Man your quick with the pics! The holes on the Iversons were for acorn nuts that simulated lug nuts found on real car mags.

Were there at least two versions of the Skyway graphite wheels? One had campy unsealed hubs and the other had sealed bearing hubs. Both gold hubs. The sealed ones had GRAPHITE stamped in the hub body. I owned a set of the campy unsealed wheels in the mid 80's. Sold them and bought the sealed bearing version around 1986. Still have the sealed bearing wheels. Are the sealed bearing wheels also Campy hubs? Cast in the wheel is Skyway TUFF WHEEL II PAT NO. 4280736
