STANDARD BYKE COMPANY OPEN HOUSE BASH- idea stage only as of posting!

The boys at STANDARD are thinking of having a open house bash in September. Tours of the shop will be given so you can see how hand made bikes are produced and assembled in the USA. Meet and greet with riders to hear about what riders are looking for and would love to have in a custom frame and fork!

Also looking to have New & Used SBC good's. We would also like to have Live bands, food, giveways and lots of fun. Just a day of STANDARD.


STANDARD BYKE COMPANY is also located 2 blocks from the BIG Davenport IA concrete skate and bike park for a fun day of riding.Maybe also looking at getting a few pro's and locals to ride with. Maybe get Rick down there to do some showing off

that would be worth the 390 mile drive to Iowa... you could have a STANDARD only bike show.

STANDARD ONLY bike show could be a cool idea!

you could have pre 2000 class / post 2000 class - or separate them by race (20inch/24inch), street, dirt. Regardless a parking lot full of STANDARDS would be off the hook.

maybe just a best of show or another. Lots of class's equals alot of work. Open house is ment for fun. just make a super dope trophy?

I dont know what I was thinking (except a parking lot full of cool Standards) but I only do a best of show award at the Bill Drake Memorial Show.

come on Nick buddy, the park has lights. They go on at dark, duh on my part, and they usually shut off at about 600-630 am. on the plus side, they are even on in the middle of winter with about a foot of snow on the ground and you cant ride anyways. hahahaha, I love Davenport

I see a hot mid July evening hanging out in the SBC parking lot listening to some kool live music, wondering around staring at some the baddest racers, dirt jumpers and street bikes ever to be produced.

with all the cool army builds finally starting to emerge I thought it might be a good idea to kick this back to the top and give everyone something else to chew on.

I'm sure me and my brother can make our way out for the day whenever this happens.

cant say for sure Nick is still putting it all together, but I know the weekend of the Regional at East Moline is being kicked around. That way we can have the best of everything racing, park and party!!!!

If I'm dragging my bike all the way there it's getting raced. I don't think a skate park and my DXR's would get along. I think one grind and half the arm would be gone. So racing it is.

Now to secure transportation to the event...

is the em track still in that arena with all the seating?

The skatepark has a great flow (so I've heard). It doesn't mean you have grind your cranks away. BTW Mike Stoneking runs DXR's on his bike and rides the skate park almost every sunday. I will have DXR's on my bike and I will ride it and race @ EMBMX Speedway so I hope to see you there.



And I dunno what you mean by stadium seating, LOL. It does have a fair amount of bleachers and a whole lot of camping area. I also believe the track will be getting a new face lift in the near future(after the white stuff goes away). I'll have to talk to Paul about that next week when I go down and pick up some things from the shop.

I need to get a exact date from paul, and see if we can work it into SBC, and tie them together and get to work to have some fun!!!

i was younger the last time i was out there, probly been 15/16 years by now lee
and now that i'm thinking about it, i actually talked to the TO last spring about coming out there and he said that maybe 8ish years ago it was moved to what is now its current location
i was looking online and at the tracks current pics, and its not what i remembered location wise

there is a bmx track somewhere, that was or still is inside an open roofed stadium with all the seating and whatnot, lots blue seats i remember, seems like a smaller town to me for whatever reason but can't put a name on it now that you say it wasn't east moline

Not F.C. Outdoor either. E.M. BMX is on a field behind the fairgrounds. As far as stadidum seats, no idea. I run DXR cranks only on my race bike. I have a seperate bike for the skatepark. You can ride your race bike in the park though for sure. Ya for sure there is a lot of stuff you can grind, but there is a ton of flow and a ton of different things you can jump. City of Davenport put in almost a million bucks into it. About 3 block north of the park is the SBC Factory headquaters. About 1-1.5 is Goodtimes bike shop which Rick and Jess also run

Damn, if that's the case I don't know if I can make it. The following weekend is the Badger state nationals. I don't know if I can justify road trips two weekends in a row. Maybe I will drive out for one day or something just to meet everyone.
