This is a borderline old school question I guess. There going on an 86ish pro long. I done some searching in the mags i have and still cant get a clear answer. The mag with ads in them, show one decal and in the race photos someone will be sporting the other.

Did they come both ways from the beginning?

They started out with just the "FA" sticker---proper placement is --looking at the forks head-on--by this I mean looking at the front of the forks with each arm at right and left as if you are staring down the front tire towards the back--then the stickers would face you--NOT down the sides of the legs. We would take them off and put the full spell out "Free Agent " down the sides -- they eventually did it this way later on when they stickered them at the shop----the Mini and Minikin still sported the small "FA" because the tubing was way to small for the full sticker.

This should be better---I found an ad from Bmx Action April '89 showing proper placement of decals........

I believe they came both ways from the begining... I have several early OG survivor Free Agents from various years... and magazine pics of FA's from the early days...fork stickers seemed to be random.

Are you sure you have an '86 Pro Long? That would be a super early one... I always thought they came out in '87...
Galen? What year did the Pro Long come out?

I'm 100% sure, but I got it in 88 at the Memphis indoor. The kid I got it from said he had it for a couple of years, It could have bee stolen for what I paid for it.

It has a 21" tt and a non machined bottom bracket tube with the SN, and the SN isn't date coded.

I have two, SN 031021 and 032321.
