I got a 20 bike collection of 10 bmx, 7 road, 2 mtn, and 1 fixie / single speed bike.
My bikes that I could bring to Rockford - I can afford to lose!
A custom blue Hutch Trickstar.
A 1983 Hutch Pro modded for fresstyle had since a kid in H.S.
An 88 Haro Master
A 2006 modded Haro Sport retro remake #60 of 1000
An 87 Haro Sport [waiting for my ebay delivery this week]!
Would a custom built modded for freestyle 2000 PH Ripper [has gyro] be of interest?
This year will be my first to go to Rockford. Do I have to buy tickets in advance for something?
I can't afford to lose even 1 of my precious bikes!
Is it totally safe to bring your bike to the show and there is security that watches everyone's bike?
Is the Friday Night Swap worth going too? I can sleep in my minivan with a mattress inside of it in a Walmart parking lot...

Ahh..... he's a newbie...
You'll be safe at Rockford. I've never had a problem..... BUT, you certainly don't want to pull all of your stuff out and then walk away for a few hours....

Just remember, keep an eye on your stuff. There have been thefts before.

1st off... There are going to be bikes there that will blow your mind! If you have a project or two that you are particularly proud of then bring it...whether you win or lose you will feel good just having people to talk to about your pride and glory.
2nd... I wouldn't worry too much about theft. As long as you aren't walking away for hours at a time as stated above you should have no problems.
3rd... In my opinion the Friday swayp is well worth it. Its a smaller growd and its basically alot of people setting up, catching up or getting aquainted for the first time.
4th... If you are doing the camping thing, you can park at the track where the races and vbmx events are going down. Its free and its a good time.
5th and most important...COME YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

What hard to beleive about my post? And I do live in Chicago!
I have "camped" in my Dodge Grand Caravan before to avoid hotels... It's like "army training" sleeping in the cold! Guess I need good sleeping bag technology! If soldiers and Elivis Presley can sleep out in winter, then I can too. 45F in Atlanta did hurt though...
And I don't know where to drive to to see this Rockford event! Anyone got an address here?

We had a bassett hound named Dudley who would sleep outside in the winter too! How ironic.

$30 cable and lock set up from Home Depot/Lowes, set up, lock them together, and have the time of your life. (I lock them up because I do wander and don't watch my stuff like a hawk.) I've done it this way for about 6 of 10 years. I don't believe the members here have been guilty of heisting anything big. The track is located on Rockford's westside and you have to be smart every Sunday the Rock. Jake runs an awesome facility and will have rental cops directing traffic and making a presence.
No need to sleep at Walmart join the Rockford BMX tent city right on site in a city park for the weekend.
Think you can still sign up and come the dinner Saturday night with Stomp'n Stu Thomsen if you want. See posts in this section.
If you are into BMX this event is the Granddaddy of them all.

Sorry, just hit me as funny! Then I started thinking you were pulling my leg.
I will be camping too. I leave my bikes out and rarely watch them. If someone wants to steal a bike they could make a smarter choice then mine.
I'm also friends with Big Al. He makes bike thieves end up in prison at Rockford!!!
