Ok I was checking to see if any one has painted their rims and what was the result with break wear?

I am thinking about going with a color change on the rims.

Paint? Powder?

Dont do it at all ?

Well I have a black front sun rim and a Nipon brake and it has good stopping. It would probably be better with different brake pads. I some no name BS brand onthere right now. I would say powder coat would probably hold up the best. IMO

Good luck,

I rattle canned a set of old Araya 24" hoops and they came out looking pretty sweet - even with my impatient technique. The sidewalls look just like an anodized rim after a few pulls on the brake. I don't see anything wrong with painting 'em. Here's a pic.
