Just getting back into the sport as a dad so the tool of choice (vice grips) that was most common to me as a 13 year old is out. What tools besides the basic wrenches, sockets, etc. . . would be needed.

I recall we had a freewheel removal tool, and a chain breaker but my memories short and bikes have changed.

These days wheels have cassettes you will need the right size wrench for the lock ring and a chain whip.

also if your still running the bolt on gears there a little wrench to hold the back of the nut while you un screw the front with an allen wrench.

Lesson learned buy park tools the first time around its cheaper....lol....

yes, definately buy good tools, you'll save so much in the long run
if you still run freewheels now, they have a spanner wrench out now that is awesome

I swear I have at least 3 different sets of Allen wrenches in both metric and U.S. I just want to make sure I am covered. Crank puller, depending on what tyoe of cranks you guys are running.
