Get a Statts aluminum. Dude said he put it through 3 or so years of sheer, horrific terror and it held up really well until finally it gave up.
He said he was a heavy dude and used to case doubles with it regularly but by the end he said he would miss his old friend.
Statts Race frame= light jump bike.

The premium will fold like a two-bit hooker pushed to sell out here pimp.
case a double, weifh over 200 pounds, and it will be gone with the wind.
Mark Webb considers his new 3lb 10oz unknown frame a "good" frame. instead of going through one every 4 weeks, like he did with his 4lb bike, he now only goes through one every 7-8 weeks.... yeah.
Kida now days, and bikes now days, dont ride trails. teh dudes you DIO see rocking those frames are the ALRAEDY ultra smooth pros such as Doyle, Aitkin, Chanse, etc.... that is not REAL everyday riding by normal people.
If you go to trails... you will notice that MOST of the trail riders still rock 25 to 30 pound machines... and 5 lb frames or so....
Why?
They dont wan their bike to break off.

It was actually
cro-mo.
If you read that thread I talk a little bit about using chrom-moly race frames with durable forks and rear wheels as jumping bikes. I'm still doing that. For me the new school "freestyle" bikes are really just race frames from the late 90's with short rear-ends and 990 mounts (or no brake mounts). I like a little bit longer rear end, in the 14+ inch range. That frame mentioned above had a REALLY long rear-end. It was a little too long but I made it work. It took a long time for the rear wheel to land when running tight rhythm.
I don't keep up with all the new school freestyle frames these days so you should probably listen to one of the younger guys around here about that!
Of course, there's
this thread right here in the freestyle section. All of those frames are light but I would think that Cam Wood frame fits the bill.

Or a Standard 125R F/F would be a nice fit with both race/trails ready capabilities.

even though still to be tested. the new supercross Bolt LT at 4lb 2oz. looks sweet and considering supercross reliability i'm sure to be a nice ride. that's my pic

ya, i ride a 'o8 standard 125r
works great but with a the lazer machining they did to the rear dropouts and decreasing their size to an 1/8" width i don't know how much i'd trust it for BIG trails and/or true dirt jumping
i still ride my '95 standard motocross... the rear end is the same length as the 125r's but has beautiful rear dropouts, nice and thick, that is true trail bike to me, 14years later and have yet to have it let me down and i've put the thing through hell

I ride a DK Legend with Metal Sasquatch bars, Proline cranks, Free Agent Eluder race forks, no brakes, and a single wall race wheel up front with 48 spoke double wall in the back. The bike flows so well. Never feels too crazy

If I were to get a 125R, I'd have them put on the 250 drops. Check the Standard 250, that might be perfect.

I seen a full size 20" racer the other day weigh in at 15 lbs. My mouth hit the floor. That 7 -8 lbs lighter than we had them in the late 80s. I think it was a crupi f&f but cant exactly remember. brain cells seem to have taken a vacation lately.

not the lightest bike in the world, but i wanted to have a bike i could race, ride trails, ect. it's tipping the scales at about 23lbs, which is fine for me. i tend to 50/50 landings and am not the smoothest rider there is, so i trade peice of mind for weight

bulldog blackstar race frame
older dk race forks
ati rack and pinion stem and bars
sun rhinolite laced to dk flip flops
redline proline cranks
psykopath rockstar sproket(pictured.. currentlly running a crupi sprocket)
