Could I please have some information on where to find the rule book for the event?

Thanks smile.gif

This is still officially the draft version, because I have not added the protest rules yet, but for the question you want answered, this should give you the info.

Let me know if you have any questions once you've given it a look.

Best,

I just wonder if ,the more rules you make the more problems you have. I really just go to rockford to chill anyways. If I do something wrong just slap me lol. Mike You really are doing a great job so far, keep up the good work.

seven pages for a bike gathering?
juanrmattos
LOL... No, this request was only to make sure if a certain scenario would fit into the event... And to be certain about the allowed exemptions... No biggie.

I'm all packed and ready to go... smile.gif

Yes, Half naked women are allowed as bike stands.. LOL

The rules are not meant to penalize people. There will be no slaps on the wrist (by me at least). They are in place to provide a structure when two guys come up to me (or whomever the organizer would be in years to come) and say "His bike has X,Y and Z...and I just don't think that is legal for a (insert class here)." Then, the other guy makes his case. Without a framing document to refer back to, it's just two guys standing there waiting for you to make a snap decision right then and there. I am not comfortable with that.

So many of the points in the document address issues from former years (What is a ballot, what is a bike, the definition of the classes, etc).

LOL. crazy isn't it? You ever see the rules for solitaire?

As long as people are spending thousands of dollars on these builds, and the travel to come to the event, I felt the least I could do was provide a structure for resolving differences, and helping people be able to know, in advance, what is and is not cool. it would be AWESOME if we did not event have to refer to it!

I did not see anything in there about having FUN. smile.gif

Ah yes, the unwritten rule. Definitely! I'm adding that in to the final draft, Paul. So when you see it in there, everyone, you know the man responsible.

Dont forget to brush up on how to date code tires. This could make or break some builds.

That's the beauty part. *I* am not playing God on this. It is on the protester to bring "substantiating evidence" in the event of a protest. See, the rules are working already tongue.gif

Mike,

Maybe I missed this in the rules, but if you win a class do you have to be at the banquet? I'd like to enter but my not be able to stay for the banquet.
subwax
i am sure someone can rep it for you.

So Mike, what if there had to be some changes in parts? Do we just revise the card when we get it?

Yes. When you pick up your tag at check-in, you'll have the chance to make any final corrections (preferably before Saturday Morning).

Hey Chuck, if your bike wins, I would be happy to take it to the banquet. I live in chicago so it won't be to bad to get it back to you. lmk

Hey Chuck,

Sorry I did not see this before now.

Of course, it is not a *requirement* for you to bring the bike to the banquet. But, it must be there in order to be considered for "Best In Show," since there is a separate ballot for that category, which is a "winner of winners."

Best,

M

Thanks man I'll let you know. I think my Profab might have a shot at 70's but BofS would be tough given guys like you, Randy, and Claude, just to name 3 of many.

d). A protest for misclassification may be lodged if more than two major components of an entry (Frame, Fork, Wheels, Cranks, Handlebars, Stem, Pedals), or four or more secondary components of an entry are not deemed, by the person lodging the protest, to be era-correct. Protests must contain multi-source, documentary evidence to be considered for action by the Show Marshals.

OK more info/list of "Secondary components" please. I have an idea but would like to be sure. (tires specifically)

Thanks Mike
