STANDARD BYKE CO has had many inquires about custom 26'' bikes. If interested email me your specs and lets build you something cool and unique. Doing a 1 off crazy 26'' for a client right now that will be pretty unique. The sky is the limit. if interested email me @ nziegler@istate.com.
Bike is being built with front head tube gussets (old 80's look) 5.5 inch head tube, and much more. chrome forks, candy color frame, COOL OLD STYLE LOOK.
I will try to get some pics as the frame is being built!
Want a custom bike? just ask, any size, any style, any color!!

Thanks mike for letting me back on!!
As for quotes, email me at nziegler@istate.com for rough idea's. Im in constant contact with Rick and the gang, so Quotes will be pretty fast!
Not only limited to 26'', but custom 20/24'' also can be made!
Send me your specs and we can go from there
Not trying to make this a sales pitch, but see other riders talking about there wants in a frame and fork, so we are here trying to get feedback on what YOU the rider would want in a custom bike. and just letting people know what maybe going on here in the near future.
Thanks

i must say, that ANYTHING i have needed modified or needed to get built ,standard byke company
have treated me like a king.
the build quality is A grade putting them in another league.
dont waist time and money on a B grade ride ,when you can save alot of time money and effort going direct to standard.
i have waisted so much money over the years getting the wrong stuff.

Looks great - do you plan to have the frame chromed or powder coated? Cannot wait to see it built up.

This one will be powder. We got some custom 26'' projects going on, i will hopefully have some pics on friday for everyone!! Chrome is cool, but most dont want the added expense, but some still do buy chrome, honestly i love chrome BMX frame and forks with cool stickers!!
So you guys as riders, what do you look for in a custom frame? What would you like to see?
thanks

I race a 125 r and also a gt cruiser. The 125 with tall bars is still uncomfortable for me. I am huntched over to far. Without going with even taller heavy bars, what could be done. I am 6'-2". The cruiser seems as though the head tube is higher, I wonder if there is a way to resemble that a bit more. I am just guessing as to what I am thinking so please do correct me if I am wrong. I love 20's and don't want to bail on the 20's and i love Standard Byke but I know I could place better if I could feel more comfortable

could you guys do a frame and fork like this one, it's from another post I saw on here by another member, 26" mongoose but styled after the 20" version.
I'd be interested in something like that, or a 26" version of a old red line.

PBR,
prices vary by alot. depends on how custom you want to go, color or chrome, what size? I hate to toss up a number and shoot a low quote, then you want a full out crazy custom, for my cheap basic price! hope you understand!

I have been on a 125R 24" as my race bike and thought it was the best riding bike I have ever been on. Then, I got on a Black Market Riot and have been racing it. The 24" is now collecting dust.
Any thoughts on a 26" bike that would be a full on hard core BMX racer?

I really think what I'd like, unless there are structural challenges I am not aware of, is a 26" (like my Black MArket) with BMX spec componentry. For example:
BMX width BB shell, rear hub width, and fron hub width - makes swapping parts in the BMX world easy. I also don't see v-brake options on many high end 26" bikes as all has migrated to disks.
Beyond that, perhaps just .5-1 degree steeper head tube angle?
The BMX spec components is a little selfish. But, when I was building my black market, I had a learning curve on what I needed and who makes it. I am just not was familiar wtih some of the brands, products, and measures in that world. I do supsect the wider based ont these bikes (bb and rear hub) do add strength, but how much?
nvmyslowride
May 21 2009, 08:41 AM
Let me see what i can come up with
Is the head tube traditional press fit or integrated?
STA style gusset frame? or your own style?
Top tube length?
Rear end length or ball park?
All tube diameter's
That seat tube height and height from the top of the bb to the top of the top tube.
BB height.
Head tube angle.
Seat tube angle.
Chrome or powdercoat
And do you need a special fork?
This info is what helps companys build The perfect bike for todays riders! KEEP IT COMING.
Thank you
Nick

CHRIS,
We would need to know tire size and front sprocket size to be 100% sure. So, yes we can do it. But it all depends on what your running for those parts to build it correctly

I'd love a 26" with a DG Gusset (I have artwork from orignal), US BB, Canti mounts in rear, 1 1/8" HT, Loop rear end, DG Style offset forks, 4 to 5" rise bars and a post that fits.
Like my Fireman's but with DG branding. I want to go all blue and yellow and have a crusier that is a bit over the top.
Is this something anyone else would want? Perhaps if Standard built a few the price would be "attractive".

Custom loop tails get very pricy very fast! The mass producers can do it cheaper then being 100% HAND made. The rest of the stuff seem pretty straight forward!

May 24 2009, 06:52 PM
So the first DG 26" frames (forget the beach crusiers) were not loops anyway. I was thinking that was "easier". Check the brace at the rear drop outs. This would be unique.

Looptail is very requested by riders, I have had 3 requests for a 26'' custom tonight, 2 of them looptails , but we may wait til one is payed for and custom built to a customer specs, Just so we dont have a random spec bike built.
Keep those nice comments coming. hearing them is what keeps SBC pumped!!!

I may consider going in on a limited run of 26ers. I actually prefer small production frames better than one offs. To me they have a more legitimate feel. It has to be something good, though, otherwise I can just by a Fireman's.
