It was from the MCS trailer at the easter nationals in orlando, the track at the fairgrounds off of 50....
So i know who where when...but today really unsure about what..
Over the years that passed.. i had always wanted a free agent... and to my eyes.. my mcs always looked like a FA
so i stickered it as so...
When i bought it, in 88 or 89
it was a blem....left over etc.
So i always assumed a bit older model..86-88...
So i went and looked at my serial numbers....
it is in the exact same place as the FA?????and the sequence seems the same...

SO...did FA ever have a brace behind the bottom bracket that was flat?
were the FA tubes ovalized at the headtube?

Anyhow..
i will look through some of my old pics... take a few new ones if it helps....

Id hate for it to be a FA at this point....all the history.. etc..

here is a pic from the 80s...

here is the brace behind the bottom bracket..

headtube.. top and down tubes..

rear end

Current state..

the serial is
0088954

here is the kicker on age....
Thiis frame was bought during my first year of nationals...
the seat clamp...
brakes.. and rims
are all from my Bought new...ordered 86 Group One RS1...
I only raced 1 season locally before racing nationals.
So it would have been in 88 in my best guess.........

Rick, thats an MCS for sure... that brace behind the BB is an MCS signature.

Free Agents never had ovalized tubes (at least not in the 80's)
Free Agents never had a flat brace (at least not in the80's)

nice.. i was hoping you would look at this!

now i am ready to clean her up!
I knew the braces and the ovalish tubes would be key..
thanks RD
