The bike I recently found had a pair of KKT lightning pedals on it. The logo and tooth pattern are different than what I am used to seeing. Anyone have any info on the difference between these two pedals.
Heres some pics of the two styles

Just curious, the black one says "KKT"; but does the orange one say KKT anywhere on it? They could have been old knock-offs.
It could be a whole new sub-genre of vintage collecting; NOS knock offs.

Could just be Version 1 and Version 2, Same a Suntour XC1 and XCII
Maybe they relized that the teeth were too sharp and kids could hurt themselves with sharper pedals. Also the bottom one (red) could be worn teeth a little. Seems more obvious that they decided the complex cutouts were hidden by reflector so why not cutout the holes simpler.

The red ones dont say KKT anywhere on them. The ends are pretty beat though up so maybe it was there. The bike is a 79/80 Robinson mini with some other things parts are dated from that period. Anyone know when KKT started making this style of pedal?
Kurt.

About 79 sounds right.
I have a couple of sets of KKT Lightnings - including this NOS pair of the magnesium centred ones.
I reckon your red pair is an imitation pair from BITD. The "Lightning" logo is "hollow" block lettering on both mine too, not a thin stamping like your red ones.
