My little brother and I used to do some dangerous stuff on our bikes before we started racing.

At the age of 12 and 10 we would use my dad's car repair ramps as double jumps. We would gauge the distance by the squares in the sidewalk cement. If my memory is correct, we used to clear at least 10 squares and land on the narrow ramps.

After watching the Happy Days episode when Fonzi jumps the trash cans, we went to the local park, built a jump and moved every trash can in the park to the jump. We jumped as many as 8 lying down and 6 standing up. Then we started to jump the picnic tables we were sitting on first cross ways then long ways.

We also set put plywood on my dads saw horses and jumped the front of my friends dad's station wagon.

It was quite common to drop off loading docks and such. After seeing the SE ad of what I think was the OM jumping off the house roof into the pool, got the idea to drop off our 10-12 ft flat garage roof. However, after putting our bikes on the roof, thank god we chicken out.

No helmet, shirt, or protective gear at all.
