How many times do you think someone has posted with a "what's it worth" question? Enough to have a "Sticky" thread at the top of the forums explaining an answer.
I think it's funny how many Newbies come on and think they can make their own rules.
I bet if you put it on ebay, you'd find out what the bike is worth. Give it a try.
The frequent requests for opinions on the value of a bike indicates that there is a need for such opinions. So, isn't logical that someone looking to find out the value of their "Vintage" BMX bike go to a "Vintage" BMX website? You can't kill someone for doing a google search for "Vintage BMX", finding this site, and assuming that this is the place to obtain information (including value) about their bike.
The almost angry reaction to new members is certainly a way to drive down membership, which in turns hurts the sites ability to attract advertisers.
