Finally got around to finishing up the custom "Urban Commando" Mongoose.

This was a build inspired by my orange 26" Urban Commando Hybrid that I've posted before.

MiniZ
Way cool!

Love it, bro. Can you fit on the early gooses? Do you build them to ride them? Are you a midget?
Lonewolf
I wanna say something else, The level to which you build your bikes is that they look new. I think you are to be commended for keeping such interest in such an important chapter of our history.

Where do you keep getting all these new looking parts? How long does a typical build take? Are you using powder or paint? Please tell us some of the details of your builds. I think there is a lot to learn from you.

I think you should be the next president.

Thanks for checking out the Goose guys. wink.gif

I'm blushing Lonewolf... LOL! BTW, I ride all my bikes. I'm actually gearing up to take most of these to Music City BMX not far from here. It's an awesome track. These old 70's bikes are solid as rocks and I've been careful to build them tight so they can be used.

I've been gathering up Mongoose junk for a little over 2 years off Ebay and Craigslist pretty much. Like anyone else who collects, some builds can take years to find the right parts. Some builds happen within days. Just depends on what your going after.

The "Urban Commando" Mongoose frame was powdered orange to simulate my OG 26" Urban Commando hybrid bike below:

that is a nice looking build....got a shot of both bikes together?

Nice build, love that orange! sun_bespectacled.gif

Question- why do some guys install the seat post clamp down on the mast like that, instead of flush with the top of the tube? Looks weird, and I'd think you'd lose some clamping power...???

Nice! I like the flatblack seatpost.

I like it, not at first but it grows on you.

Years ago Dan Boone [Booneraker] showed off his "BattleGoose", gum metal grey, black tuff wheels, all black parts...these two should duel.

Thanks Chef. Your opinion means a lot to me... smile.gif

I tried, but I can't find any info. on Booneraker's Battlegoose. Sounds pretty cool.
Kerry
