I posted this on another site, so if you read this please ignore.
I just received some Profile Bearings from Dans, and they are clearly marked on the package- Made In USA. However, when I took the bearings out of the package, China is stamped on both sides of the bearings- plain as day- NO Made in USA or anything like that.
Now I understand the issue of manufacturing overseas, and the cost of making bearings over here. Is there a stipulation that says, if X% of the bearing/cup is made in the US, than it can be listed as Made In the USA- kind of like a US vehicle, but made in Canada or Mexico?
I cannot imagine the bearing being less than 50% of the metal in the bearing/cup assembly to state it is Made In the USA.
I think this is totally bogus, as I would have bought cheaper bearings since they would be from China as well.

All of the American BB sized Profile bearings that I have here say "Profile Racing" on them. No mention of China, or anything else on the 20 or so sets that I have here.....

Does Profile make any sealed bearings/cups without their name on it.
I would ask Profile, but no one seems to answer their phones or respond to messages. Must have a bad taste in their mouths with customers after their new cranks/chrome debacle.

Could have been DANS packaging cheap bearings in a profile baggy... Profile's bearings are made by Enduro, and if they're not, there not authentic.

Maybe the card stock package header is made in the USA.

Amazing...as of today, April 13th, no reply at all from Profile, after I left a long message at the end of March complaining about the bearings. I left all of my contact information, so there is no excuse as to why they have not contacted me.
Again, it must be that they took such a beating on the chrome job on their cranks, maybe they do not want to deal with customers anymore!?! Nice business plan and customer follow up.
